I feel like he's primed for a call up. His velo is looking very good. He has 3 plus pitches. They are slowly elevating his pitch count. Not counting 2020, this is his 6th year in a professional system. He's not a kid, and they can certainly use some pitching help. I would however like to see him walk less guys. But I think it's really close for his time to get called up.
Gallardo was on fire today with 11 Ks in 5 IP. And if the box score is accurate he did that on 60 pitches! That would be insane efficiency.

Will be interesting to see what they do with him since they're desperate for arms in the pen. It probably depends a bit on how guys like Wesneski and Thompson look, whether they may use him as a multi inning guy or keep him stretched out, and how Hendricks does. I'm sure they'll give Kyle a long rope in his walk year.
I can see them calling up Brown well before the trade deadline to give the team another push before a potential sell-off. Maybe by July he's up if he pitches well. If they weren't desperate maybe he'd normally be up the last 2 months of the year.
A sell-off might be a tough call this year given how weak the division has been so far. Probably depends on how the Cardinals look. If the division is still up for grabs they may not sell if they're like 5 games under .500. I can't see this team doing much worse than how they've done in May.

We are approaching phantom IL stint for Taillon to let him figure things out in AAA. He’s given up 21 runs his last 5 starts in a combined 17.1 innings. That’s not acceptable. I think it’s time to IL him and bring up Brown and see what he has. If he looks good, then you go from there. It will work itself out. There will be real injuries. Some guys will have to go to the pen. Taillon needs to work through things at AAA right now though. He’s not great as it is, but he has a long track record of being much better than this.
good run for the pitching prospects as of late.
nice to see Hodge setting in at AA.
The real Pride of the Midwest
The tiny MLBTR blurb about Brown today wasn’t overly fun to read.
