How do we feel about Palencia as a reliever? Apparently he was electric for Iowa tonight out of the pen. Fastball touching 99 multiple times. He will obviously be up soon, but is he done as a starter?

I like it. I think this was always going to be his outcome but he can be a very good reliever.

I like it. Always thought that was where he would end up.

Palencia was always a long shot SP. Both he and Luke Little are two more leverage RP types. Should both be up shortly, IMO.

Owen Caissie hit two more bombs last night. While his overall season K% is still touching 40%, his last 102 PA's has seen that dip a bit to 31.4%. Still bad, but with the tacking issue in AA, this isn't as inflated as it appears. Add in that he's still not 21, and in AA, and still posting a 140 wRC+ (and a season 151 wRC+), his improved defense and a 60 grade arm he's showing, and I think he'll start hitting top-100's in the near future.

Do you think he's going to be able to realistically play OF with him being pretty slow? Maybe 1B or DH is a more realistic landing spot?

Yeah, he's big, but athletic. There were people on draft day who thought he could be a CF. Now, I think we are way past that, but he's athletic enough to be a RF. Especially with the arm. He probably moves to 1b down the road, but he's probably got years where if he can continue to show good enough instincts in RF where he will be viable.

That would be nice if his arrival coincided with Suzuki's departure. A seamless RF transition. I know pipeline is not the end all be all with arrivals, but they have Caissie in the bigs next season. I can't imagine that.

I could see Caissie getting a cup of coffee next year but I imagine he won't stick as a regular contributor for 2-3 seasons.

I think Cassie will have a full season at AA and a full season at AAA. Thats what I'm expecting at least. The K% needs to keep trending down. Man is he exciting though.

I think a lot of us, myself included really underrate the value AAA has for development.

Aliendo has his 7th HR, boosting his OPS to 975 in his first 100 AB at AA. Had just 13 in 750 AB in his career before this season.

Big comeback for Tennessee tonight. They were down 9-4 in the bottom of the 9th and won on a walk off single by PCA. Aliendo had a crucial 2 run double a couple batters earlier.

Would have been an extra base hit, as well as being off a lefty

    Also worth mentioning

Anyone know whats going on with Drew Gray? I thought he was supposed to be in A ball this year after TJS. Is he just down in Arizona on the developmental list?
