Brandin Cooks traded to Dallas Cowboys

Wow! I thought it would be for Hopkins but Cooks works for me. And for a 5th and future 6th. Not bad Jerry.

I'll take Cooks for sure at that price. Good deal!

He does have an injury history can’t deny that. He had a calf issue that kept him out of several games this year. How much of that was the fact that he was playing for a team trying to get the #1 pick though? For a 5th and future 6th the trade is not bad. Also factor in Houston will be paying $6M of his salary this year and only costing the Cowboys $12M this season and $13M next season. Not a bad trade at all.

Not to mention Gallup will be more than a year removed from his injury.

You refused to pay Cooper and ended up with a significant downgrade.

This is exactly what I was going to say.
Didn't want to pay Coop 20M but want to pay Cooks 12M

They literally got 2 5s for him and now give one of those 5s essentially back.
    Like wtf are they doing?

I wouldn’t say significant downgrade. Career wise Cooper has 1 less 1,000 yard season. Cooper is also terrible on the road. Not to mention he makes $8M more per season than what the Cowboys will be paying Cooks.

I thought Jerry only is concerned with the future

Why’s he bringing in older vets

    Well he’s younger than Hopkins.

I just know Jerry only makes plays for longevity and 32 year old corners and 29 year old oft injured WRs are the pinnacle of longevity

Imagine a fan base that was head over heels excited about signing an aging oft injured desean Jackson. Poo pooing the idea of a team trading next to nothing for a veteran wr addition in cooks 😂 and then asking why we didn’t pay the frequently injured 1 year younger aging WR over 20 million dollars per season. 😂

Not to mention Cooper is trash on the road, and Hopkins makes $14M more per season than what the Cowboys will be paying Cooks.

The Cowboys had a deal in place to trade for Cooks last year for a 3rd (and pay all of his salary), instead they got the player they wanted for less than the price they originally agreed to and now Houston is paying $6M of his salary this season. I do not see how that is a bad trade.

I expect some Eagles fans to try and downplay this trade and be mad. I have a feeling they REALLY are not going to like this trade when they play this season.
