Aaron Rodgers intends to be a Jet

Just said it on Pat McAfee's show. Terms of a trade haven't been hammered out yet but looks like its going to happen soon.

GB legend that overstayed his welcome gets traded to the Jets so their third year backup can finally start.

    Why does this sound familiar?

You’d think rodgers would’ve been more accommodating to love considering that whole experience

It's weird that he announces his intentions while trade compensation is still in limbo. The Packers obviously back out at this point, but the Jets don't have many options left.

Both GB and Rodgers are burnt out with each other and it showed last season. The trade will get done.

It will for sure get done. The question is who has more leverage right now in the trade negotiations.

It would be hilarious if GB didn't want to trade the diva queen

No way that happens. The Packers want to move on from him and there's no reason to believe they won't do right by him given all he's done for GB. They were SB contenders most years he was there and a lot of that was because of Rodgers.

He said "I was 90% retired 10% playing" and "I still have the fire to play" in virtually the same paragraph. If I'm the Jets I say 'ya know what, never mind' .....they should thinking more long term than 1-2 yrs with that roster anyway
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Saleh can't afford to play the long game. If he has a stinker of a year in 2023 he might get the axe. He wouldn't be the first good HC to get fired for not being able to find a QB.

In that division there's no guarantee even with Rodgers, but they're built to win now.

Except the problem is they need to find a QB and they have a playoff caliber roster now minus a QB. There is no guarantee they reach the SB with AR, but he's the best shot they got. They could conceivably unload a ton of draft capital to try and move up in the draft to select one of the top QB's, but they aren't build to draft and develop a QB. They're built to insert a veteran QB on to an already good roster and take a couple shots at making a run.

And then the Jets are basically in rebuild mode yet again especially once Aaron Rodgers retires because let's not forget A Rod is pushing 40 years old. He's 39 or turning 39 this year. Which means the Jets have a small window to try to go win now mode.
