Javon hargrave, signs with the 49ers. 4years, 80mill, 40mill guaranteed.

It’s about what I thought he’d get, I’m glad he got it, he earned it. Great move for the 49ers

A little off topic but I just think it’s funny that there is a “legal tampering period”. There’s been so many signings so far already and the “legal tampering period” has only been open for like an hour so far.. tj edwards signed like 5 minutes into the time frame..loll

Well this is interesting. Cowboys will definitely be looking to draft an interior OL now.

49ers signing hargrave is the definition of life with QBs on rookie deals

Stacked defense, gonna be tough this year

Pats traded Jonnu Smith to ATL for a 7th. Saves $4.5M of cap space. They also re-signed CB Jonathan Jones. He was ok at outside CB last year but had previously been a top notch slot. Also speculation he could move to FS with Devin McCourty retiring. He will have a cap hot of about $6.2M.

If the Pats release Jalen Mills, Davante Parker, Lawrence Guy, restructure Matthew Judon and extend Hunter Henry then they’ll be at about $54 cap space before Jones re-signing. Would love to see them do that then get a little frisky in free agency. S Jessie Bates, CB Jamal Dean, LB Jermaine Pratt, re-signing Jakobi Meyers, some DL depth like Zach Allen and maybe a run stuffer, maybe a CB like Rock Ya-Sin. Then go WR and OT in the draft.

I'm actually surprised he got so much. The dude is never healthy and is the definition of "not good enough". I didn't him hed get 22.5M even on a one year deal, much less 3 years with 34M guaranteed.

I can't believe Jonnu only went for a 7th. That's a solid gamble by Atlanta and I wish we'd have been in on that. I think the Pats criminally misused him.

Well that’s basically between backup and starting QB money. I think he’s going there to start, although I still expect the raiders to draft a QB. That’ll be interesting to watch. He’s basically a stop gap QB at this point

I’m psyched about the signing but still don’t know how we could afford it.

I don’t get it from the Raiders. Do they actually think he’s better than Carr?

You can build super teams if you aren’t paying a QB. Their yearly salary is equivalent to 3-4 premium players at different positions

You could fit a premium DT, safety, LB and G probably in the contract of a QB alone

He has a $10M salary, $6.25M of it guaranteed. That’s a lot of money for, as you call it, a “gamble”. I agree it’d a good gamble though, which is how I think we managed to dump the salary vs eating it release (which wouldn’t happen because it wouldn’t save money anyway).

I still like him. I think the issue is he was paid as someone who could have his role scaled up. I don’t see it. He’s a solid enough 3rd or 4th overall option in the passing game which isn’t worth paying a premium for. Good, solid player just speculatively paid thinking he could scale up and don’t think he can.
