Hopefully Briere can turn this around!
I actually checked the date to make sure I wasn't being april fools pranked by the link when I saw it.
<Meaning and Content>
...And did you see that Giroux goal?
I think for now, the main concern needs to be tanking lol...It's not outside the realm of possibility that we get into the top 2-4 picks. Even the Blue Jackets are supposedly going to have some players return this week. I think Montreal, Anaheim, and Arizona have a good chance of passing us. I think even the Blackhawks have a chance of passing us.

I'd be surprised if the Oilers were willing to pay 2 firsts for a young goalie that struggles with consistency, but hey ya never know.
The Blackhawks, Ducks, Coyotes, and Canucks have been playing a better brand of hockey lately. It's not out of the realm of possibility that we find our way to the top 2 or 3 in the lottery. One can dream right?
Who stays who goes?
Provorov, Atkinson, Hayes, Konecny, Sanheim (before his extension kicks in), Risto (if anyone wants him), Laughton, and Hart? Which of these players won't be back for the full blown rebuild?
Briere doesn't have to gut the team, but he does have to clean up the cap situation (his predecessor spent to the cap on a mediocre team - thank god he's gone). The plan should be to let the young guys play keep a couple vets around and use your cap space at the TDL to facilitate trades like ARI has for prospects and/or picks.
The rebuild of this team will depend on something the organization has had a major issue with for a very long time.....player development. Our prospects are not panning out because they're not being developed properly in the minors. Hopefully, Laperierre and his staff are changing that. The Flyers have had a tendency to draft players and try to change their game. The game that made them successful draft prospect the Flyers tear it down and turn them into mediocre NHL'ers.
linkOn Monday, Pennsylvania police charged college hockey player Carson Briere, son of Philadelphia Flyers interim general manager Danny Briere, with three misdemeanor crimes after he was shown on video pushing a woman's empty wheelchair down a flight of stairs at a local bar on March 11.
