Maybe by some but I feel like he gets his recognition from fans and management. Sure he doesn’t miss tons of bats but he gets guys to drive balls straight into the dirt. He’s a solid option to have for the 7th or 8th inning. I didn’t realize he led the league in appearances last season.

Yeah, I think some of his low moments last year were the result of Charlie setting him up to fail. As in: why was Cimber brought in (on more than one occasion) with runners in scoring position late in close games? I guess you could argue that maybe there weren't better options, but you know the guy pitches to contact.

In what sense? he's a submariner that relies on deception. If that is off he has no fastball to fall back on

I think Charlie probably didn't have much else for leverage guys earlier on. With Bass and Swanson at the back end of the pen, we now have have better options for the 7/8th innings. I see Cimber as a 5/6th inning guy now. And he shouldn't have to pitch the innings he did in 2022.

    Romano
    Swanson
    Bass
    Garcia

the remaining rp's are low to medium leverage arms IMO. If the above 4 are on that should be enough to make this a very good pen. I really want to see Pearson in pitch some high leverage situations - challenge him and see what he does

Cimber is great. Not sure what the complaint is about him here.

I hope it's Lopez who gets the nod for 26th man. As noodles said, I think we are only allowed 13 pitchers and I want Barger to get daily reps in the minors. Lopez plays a ton of positions and is sound both defensively and offensively. Not great but he seems like the perfect guy to carry.

It was slim pickings until the Bass/Pop trade tbh. Trevor Richards was the only guy who could miss bats. Unfortunately he also missed the plate a lot too.

I'm a very firm believer in your bullpen having different looks. With Cimber's arm slot, I want him in my pen.

Should shorten it up 2 or 3 games. Start season earlier.
