    That’s pretty spot on lol.

I’m not a fan of signing guys prior to getting to the majors and producing. Remember Jon Singleton of the Astros? They thought he was the future guy signed him to a contract for 10 million prior to taking one pitch at the major league level and yet here they are with a guy not named Singleton playing first. The contract was weird but it was worth up to 30 million for a guy that’s never seen a major league pitch.

I don't the the Os game is on MLB
I highly doubt the manager is adjusting the lineup based on whether a game is being televised or not.

    Ahhh!
You are assuming the manager makes the lineups!!

It may be totally coincidental but I find it interesting.

Volpe has been mostly playing when Judge does, that's not an accident

    Cabrera should be a starter

I would argue that if they go with Volpe at SS, Cabrera should start at 2B and they can still move Torres.

If Cabrera gets off to a strong start the Yanks would be smart to think extension, IMO. He's a better, more powerful version of prime Marwin. A switch hitter, that could start at 7 positions and has a laser cannon for an arm.
Even Rosenthall and Heyman have said the best move the Yanks can make is to move Torres and IKF before opening day
They challenged Volpe and bet against him having this kinda spring and he's earned a roster spot. Fans will seriously riot if he's not on the opening day roster.. The reality is his bat allows him to be just as valuable at any of 2nd,3rd, or SS, You can still be a superstar at 2nd or 3rd Aluve, Arenado etc.

Peraza has far more value as a SS because the glove and arm are special. No knock on Volpe whatsoever, if he's the SS he'll be a good defender there, but he's not Peraza and IMO it's not close.

Volpe has the better bat, not a knock on Peraza bat, Volpe is more advanced and has more power.

The Volpe you are seeing is the exact player he's been for the last 2 seasons. I doubted that he could continue to do it at the MLB level and I was wrong. He's ready and I'll be very surprised if he isn't an All-star soon.

The Peraza that hit 306 at the end of the season is the real version of Peraza. The Peraza you are seeing this spring is real as well, he's been a slow starter every single yr. Defensively he is elite at SS, like a younger Correa according to Cole. His bat would play fine at the other positions but his biggest value to a team is at SS. He bring zero value sitting in AAA.

If you're going to go with either one of these guys at SS, that needs to be the final position. It does a rookie no good to think if he doesn't play well, they could lose their job. to the guys who are in AAA. If you're going to give Volpe the job, awesome. Trade Peraza to fill a big need, this . when you'll get the most value for him
If you pick Peraza you have to move Torres.
wwwwwwwwwwWhatever they choose, needs to be the decision long term. I still believe what Hal says is the future, they should stick with that. I believe Hal, everything he's said he'd get done he has. He's also been good at listening to his big players who are key in he clubhouse. You have veterans that want to start the season with both

Volpe and Peraza article and footagehttps://nyynewstv.com/2023/03/23/volpe-and-peraza-now/
I think by June/July we could see something like
    1Volpe 2nd base
2 Dom LF ( he looked like the best hitter on the team when he was up) he's still got a little left to prove but the important thing for me is he should be up in time for the playoffs and to take Hicks job so he doesn't get 10/5rights
    3 Judge RF
    4 Rizzo 1st
    5 Stanton DH
    6 DJ/Cabrera 3rd
    7 Bader CF
    8 Trevino
    9 Peraza SS
    With Cabrere playing all over.

IF ST is any indicator of whats to come, I would take that exact lineup to he playoffs and live with the chances against Houston

Are you saying Cabrera is as good as Bernie Williams was in the 90s? Not prime Bernie but 1993-1995….

I think if you remove 96-2002, Bernie is a good comp for Cabrera. I think Cabrera will get better. I don't expect prime Bernie numbers in the way Bernie did it but I wouldn't be shocked if Cabrera had a couple of really good years when he hit 300 and 20 HR.

I think we'd all love to see that!

I agree Peraza is the better SS but because it will be extremely difficult to give Volpe the SS job out of ST and then tell the team and the fans he's moving to 2B. ( I think he'd be fine with it)

I also don't think they have the satchel to call up Dom that quickly. If hicks is hitting better than 240 and playing acceptable defense, he's the LF.

I get the feeling if Peraza doesn't win the SS job, he's gone.

i can see 1993-1995 Bernie no doubt!

I love his energy as well!

Volpe and Cabrera will bring a lot of energy to the lineup in April!

We just need the older vets to feed off of them.

    2B Volpe
    RF Cabrera
    CF Judge
    1B Rizzo
    DH Stanton
    3B DJ
    LF Dominguez
    SS Peraza
    C Trevino

Wouldn’t be mad if we were rolling that out for game 1 of a playoff series. This assumes that Volpe sticks and excels, Peraza sticks,
Cabrera breaks out and Dominguez forced a call up.
