And now Nimmo gets hurt sliding into second base. This has been a super fun spring.

Yea of little faith! 🙂
On Thursday, my wife and I head to Florida to celebrate my milestone birthday over the weekend. We have tickets for the Saturday & Sunday Mets games.
As a retired CPA, I was never able to go see spring training games (with one brief exception) over the years because it was always tax season.
Happy birthday. Have a great trip. I've never been to PSL, nor have I ever seen an actual ST game, but I've gone to Red Sox camp more than a dozen times in later February over the years, and love everything about it, from fielding drills, to catching BP on a back field, to running into old timers on the sidelines.

Nimmo update. Seems encouraging.

This team is still good enough to win 95+ games but the competition in our division is what scares me.
So are you saying that losing Diaz will cost the Mets 6 wins?
Diaz had a WAR 3.2
But he is not being replaced with an average replacement player. Depending on who closes, it will either be Robertson or Ottavino.
Robertson had a WAR of 2.7 and Ottavino 2.3.
Of course, it also means that the back end of the BP could include an RP. But we may be surprised. I think somebody will come out of the wood work and surprise us.
I think the BP was slated to be better this year than last year, that is, before the loss of Diaz.
If you think about last year, we had some pretty horrible outings from people like May, Joely, Sean-Reid Foley, Medina, Givens, Shreve, Lopez and a host of others who just had cameo appearances for the Mets. We did get good appearances from Trevor Williams, but most of that was as a starter.
Lugo was pedestrian, and so was Smith after a strong start. One bright spot was Holderman.
Naturally, there is no telling how some guys will do, but I expect Smith to be much better and Hunter to step up and continue pitching well, albeit for more IP this year. Absent an injury, Raley should be an improvement and here is hoping Curtis can step up. And, if you add Megill, the BP is even stronger.
Apart from that, I have to say Eppler has put together a bunch of arms that have high upside, albeit none will likely impact this season at the major league level.
Watching the game while working from home today. Senga looks good, even without throwing the Ghost. Alvarez sent down makes sense, more because of his slow return from injury that early ST returns. And Vogey doesn't look as svelte as I originally thought when he first reported to camp.
