And just like that Luka doesn't spend his career in Dallas🤣 Dayum what a boneheaded move for the Mavs IMO.
Luka wanted another star to play with. The Mavs gave it to him. Obviously they don't care much about the off the court stuff because you presumably don't make a trade like this unless you have intentions on re-signing Kyrie in the offseason. Kyrie can play without being the main ball handler. He showed that when he played with Lebron.
I would worry more about Durant leaving Brooklyn now than I would Luka wanting out of Dallas unless of course the Kyrie move does nothing for them on the court.
I kinda like it for the mavs. They didn’t really give up much either
Nets got better.
Dallas doing everything in their power to drive Luka out of Dallas.

Great move for the Mavs. Their team had become very stagnant this season and Luka was getting frustrated. There was a report that he approached the front office and pretty much demanded they get him some help. Well they did it. Of all the players available Kyrie is by far the most talented. And only gave up 1 pick to get him. The Mavs HAD to make this trade.
They still have a huge hole in the front court though. They have the assets to make another move before Thursday’s deadline and I expect they will. They need a defensive big that can also rebound. Personally I’d love to see them get Clint Capela (while also keeping Christian Wood).
I don’t get this take. First there’s no way they didn’t run this trade by Luka so he had to sign off on it. Second of all they have made two major trades to try and get Luka help since he’s been in Dallas. The KP trade didn’t work obviously and the jury is still out on the Kyrie trade. The Mavs have done everything Luka has asked of them. He asked them to get him some help and that’s what they did. They needed another ball handler to help take the pressure off of Luka so they went out and got probably the best ball handler in the NBA.

Kyrie will sign an extension the. next year decide he can’t play with a European star because he’s against colonialism and demand another trade
I don't think I really like this deal for either team. Can Brooklyn feasibly keep Durant happy now surrounded by role players? And the best first round pick they could get was six years from now, but they really need one sooner since Houston owns all their picks through 2027.
But at least Brooklyn finally got rid of the Kyrie headache. Not sure what Cuban is doing here. Maybe Kyrie makes them a contender in the short-term, but we've seen how this story ends way too many times.
The winner here? The Rockets. And thank god, because we aren't winning much of anything else these days.
They wouldn't have a need for a defensive big if Luka didn't have a problem playing with him and personally never got along with him. How long before he will feel the same way with Kyrie is the bigger question. Vegas odds is on the 2nd half of this season and it's going fast!!!

Kyrie is the first domino. I wonder if KD is next for BKN to move.
Kyrie got awfully quiet for a little while, then asked for a trade, then refused to play until he was traded. Lol, Cuban actually took the bait. Another $200 million for Kyrie while he acts like a ****ing clown and clutter up the news for the next few years.
