    Montas headed for shoulder surgery

We were just told Montas is getting shoulder surgery and will miss the entire season...****

This will go down as Twatmans worst trade in recent memory.

Last yr's trade deadline was awful. Montas hurt, then surgery. Benny missed most of his time here and Effross is out with TJS

Absolutely disastrous outcome. Cashman is the forward-facing member of the organization so he will fall on the sword here and other places, but this requires a deep dive into the whole organization. Did the medical folks whistle past the graveyard and give bad or incomplete recommendations. Did Cashman overlook/ignore what the medical people told him? Did the Athletics withhold information? Was this an honest mistake on our end, an outcome of poor communication between the baseball and medical people, or a sign of someone’s incompetence?

Per my understanding, the Yankees have filed a grievance with the MLB. They believe that OAK with held info on his medicals. We could end up getting a couple guys back or future draft picks if they win.

Good thing the Yanks just signed him for 7.5MM. What a sweet deal that was for the Yanks.

Brutal. I can't remember a time in history any team got players back that they traded away as a result of a grievance. I'd bet anything the Yankees get nothing. The burden of proof is on the accuser and it's going to be hard to prove that Oakland withheld anything from them.

Yanks shouldn't get anything back. The trade was stupid then and still is.

Cashman may have one of the worst trading records when it comes to starting pitching.

This is just as bad as the Britt Burns trade. Go look that trade up when got George suckered by the White Sox back in 85.

And Montas was out for weeks prior to the trade and yet Cashbox still traded for the guy. Hilarious!

It is not like he will be missed. He was bad and he hardly pitched.

I will be stunned if Cashman falls on the sword.

I will say, he has looked really, really bad for the last 6 months.
    Montas.
    The Marlins debacle
Not being in on signing Judge

I am sure he will have an excuse or have his, "nothing to see here" type of language

    Brutally bad.
It isn't just pitchers. Gallo was terrible. Stanton while not horrible is a big hinderance in the lineup, The "JD, Rortvedt, IKF" is looking abysmal

I just hope they don't freak out and trade the farm to get another arm.
