He always took less, he signed a 2 year 50 m contract in Tampa because he knew the team was primed for a SB run. He was a good\great QB for his career who constantly took less in order to win.

That’s honestly the formula for success, been saying it for years. Brady taking less than what he could’ve got so that the team doesn’t have to get rid of too many key guys. Combine that with good drafting and you got a potential dynasty on your hands.

If any of these young QBs up for extensions want to have prolonged success and really chase Super Bowls, this is what they’ll do, but I’m not expecting anybody to actually do it.

Brady had a lot of things go right for him as well. Great defensive mind at HC. Bill Belichick always got rid of players one year early instead of one year late. They also brought in a lot of talented guys who didn't fit on other teams only to fit like a glove in NE. You had 2 HOF kickers who were very clutch in many super close postseason games. Brady also played a lot of boring styles of offense outside of 2007. It was a ton of check downs and high percentage short throws. I get it was a different era in the game but in his first SB win, he threw 1 TD the entire postseason.

His last SB win in NE in 2019, he threw 2 TDs the entire postseason.

It also helped that seemingly every time the Patriots made the SB, they had a top 5 or 10 defense.

I'm not doubting his greatness. I watched it for almost 20 years as a Jets fan and to his credit, he took less money to win but it helps when you're also making millions of dollars as a model (as a side hustle) and have a wife who was worth more than he was.

Not only does Brady have more Super Bowls than any other player in league history, but that seventh title he won with the Buccaneers during the 2020 season also surpasses the Pittsburgh Steelers and his former New England Patriots for the most Super Bowls won by any FRANCHISE.

Most likely not... the regular season stats are something but the playoff stats are just mind blowing. The argument ended a long time ago whether people want to admit it or not, if you need to win 1 game you're picking TB12... he's proven it over and over and over and over again. The guy didn't choke in over 20 years.

Robert Kraft says he'd do "everything in his power" to sign Brady to a 1 day contract to retire a Patriot because the fans are clamoring for it.

It’s not the right or the wrong thing. It’s a symbolic gesture and it’s his choice if he wants to do it. He might still be hurt that it ever got to the point of him leaving and he wants BB/Kraft to have to live with it forever in his own symbolic way. Though it does seem the relationship with him and BB is better, at least off the tone of their public comments.

Those power dynamics of who pushed who out kinda crack me up.

For the Steelers there were a couple of recent legends (Heath Miller, Polamalu, Farrior, Harrison, Ward, Faneca) who all pushed and pushed that they would have nothing to do with the franchise because of the way it ended. Fans swore up and down that it was because Tomlin stopped playing them and the like.

Well, Colbert steps down, and low and behold in all the celebrations this year these guys all started showing up again. Even guys from the 70’s teams that had refused to come were there. Bradshaw is literally the only holdout to coming in more, and rumor is it’s because Dan Rooney took him to task over calling Tomlin a cheerleader.

This is all well documented and doesn't include "stopping playing them" but rather lack of accountability. Tomlin allowed Ben to have his own rules, stay at whatever hotel he wanted instead of the team hotel, show up late to meetings, etc. This lead to AB rebelling and demanding his own similar concessions, and Bell's holdout.

Polamalu and a group of other team vets told Tomlin they were going to have a conversation with Ben about his anti-team conduct and how it harmed the organization and Tomlin tipped Ben off ahead of time.

Similarly, Polamalu didn't like how unstructured and undisciplined Mike Mitchell was allowed to play, leaving Polamalu to fill the gaps. This all amounted to Tomlin tolerating behavior that wasn't part of "being Steelers" in the eyes of the team veterans, including Ryan Clark, James Harrison and Brett Keisel. Dick LeBeau quit and went on to coach the Titans.

Tomlin then cut Polamalu via voicemail.

For Polamalu's HOF induction he celebrated with Art Rooney II and other Steelers players, but not Tomlin.


But yeah, then in 2020/2021 players like Polamalu starting making positive comments about the Steelers again, for unknown reasons. Colbert quit in 2022, so that's unrelated.

There are four QBs I would take over Brady: P.Manning, Rodgers, Brees, and Mahomes. So Brady would be my 5th best. Still great, but not the GOAT.
