I think it would be a mistake for the Jazz to just sit on Beasley, Vanderbilt, Clarkson, Olynyk, and Conley. mostly because this a real sellers market. This current roster is ok and lauri is playing out of his mind right now, but a 2-8 stretch and the Jazz would be picking 8th in the draft. you can't just give them away, but if you can get a solid prospect or a good first you have to do the deal.

Rockets with back to back wins. Feels good yet wins won’t help in the long term.

How many top 3 picks do you need before you try to win? This year is kind of an exception given the top tier talent in the draft. But damn eventually you would like to see some semblance of an actual team and good basketball. I guess I just feel like too much losing and you can't get out of it. Players accept it etc. I don't think a few wins here and there is a bad thing.

This is the last year. I think Silas will be gone, the Rockets don’t really control next year’s pick and John Wall’s money will finally be off the books. I’m not sure if Jalen Green and KPJ are the studs to lead them in the back court, though. But they’re still growing and improving.

The fire looks bright and I’d rather they bottom out and rebuild and not be a tweener team. Worked for the Astros 😀

As much as I hate Ainge he has a knack for this kinda stuff.

Downside is he won’t sell high, sign him to a near max, and constantly say the guy can do more (and no I’m not knocking a current Celtic with this).

I posted about it elsewhere but if coaches said Harden is out because of the injury, then Haliburton should be out too. But then it would be Garland or Brunson that deserves to be in. I don't think there's anything foul afoot here, rather just incredible inconsistencies in what counts and what doesn't.

I saw an interesting proposal for the ASG out there. Scrap the starters/bench idea. 2/5 of the vote is decided by fans, 1/5 by players, 1/5 by media, 1/10 by FO executives, 1/10 by coaches. Minimum of 4 front court, 4 guards, 1 center, so you have 3 flex spots. Then when you have the 12, you do a vote that's a combo of fans, media, and players over 1 week where you pick starters from those 12.

Snubs will still happen and snubs won't go away. But what it does is make all the spots on the all star roster be dominated by what fans want but everyone gets some say in who's there. There's been at least 1 per side per year who's been a fringe all star that gets in because the coaches like them even though fans didn't rate them highly.
