Until those other situations are resolved, the Vikings will be without a DC. Sounds like it'll either be Evero, Flores, or Sean Desai getting the job. I'm hoping we hire Flores.
We were without a DC last year so its par for the course.

We should bring back Zim and Leslie Frazier as co-DCs.

Flores looks like a great hire. Read he’s the opposite of Donatell. Aggressive, likes to dictate the flow of the game, and plays a lot of man. We’ll need to revamp our secondary but that was already near the top of the to do list. He’s well respected by his players too. I’ll be interested to see how the rest of the staff plays out. Will Flores bring in his own guys or will the rest of the staff remain in place?

I'm not sure how much we will have to do to revamp our secondary if Man coverage is what we will be running. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that Dantzler, Booth and Evans are all better man corners than zone. And if that's the case we could see a huge turnaround for our secondary.
And I'm pretty sure he would bring in his own guys to teach his system. But it's possible some may stick around, but I doubt it. All in all this was a huge hire and if he is one and done, then at least we know that he turned the D around. But I'm hoping he's here at very least two years.

Corner will be near the top of the needs list, if not #1. Dantzler doesn't have the speed to play man but I do believe Booth and Evans should be fine. Duke Shelley also graded out well in man coverage during his limited snaps. Pat Pete is probably gone so we'll need to sign a vet corner. We also need a nickel corner. There is a decent group of FA corners and I also read the draft is really deep at corner this year. Maybe 10 corners could go in the first 2 rounds. Should be able to revamp this secondary.

Eric Kendricks is the first but won't be the last. Hoping we see Jordan Hicks, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Thielen released. Read Harrison Smith and Brian O'Neill could be restructure candidates.

Looking at the FA RB market, cutting Cook makes too much sense. There are some solid, cheap RBs who could fill the void. I really like the idea of going after D'Onta Foreman. Spotrac projecting him to make 3.4 million. Pair him up with Ty Chandler as the 3rd down back. Could bring back Mattison but I prefer Foreman. A few other decent, cheap RBs are Devin Singletary, Damien Harris, and D'Ernest Johnson.

I agree with the cuts and cheap running back replacements, but let’s be honest this team will continue to disappoint and fall short until we move on from Kirk and find our cheap young qb of the future.
