Wyoming Republicans want to ban EVs

And people wonder why other countries laugh at us...

Anderson told the Cowboy State Daily that if successful, Wyoming's legislature would inform the rest of the world that "if you don’t like our petroleum cars, well, we don’t like your electric cars."
Well at least they have a good reason for it.

I mean if that doesn’t convince someone, then I can’t imagine any other argument being even 1% as persuasive.

Most companies will transition to building electric at some point anyway so not like it does anything.

Plenty of use case for oil and gas even if combustion cars are eventually phased out. We have no electric alternatives on a mass scale for heavy machinery, planes, ships, etc (and probably won't be any for probably like 50 more years minimum). Need a ton of oil and gas to make electric infrastructure work.

The only thing that matters to conservatives at this point is the culture war.

absolutely. My mother in law buys styrofoam plates, plastic silverware, refuses to recycle, and much more, literally because she hates democrats (or people that aren't white) and wants to be anti climate change.

Like she goes out of her way, to be a polluter. And is proud of it. Think of how many people, because of ****ing politics, either don't believe or don't care about climate change. The same flows for all GOP policies, but this one specifically just makes me cringe when dealing with her.

No surprises there. Unfortunately there are a lot of people like that. If someone asks (not even tells) them to do something for someone else's benefit, they will intentionally go out of their way to do the opposite.

this woman has also live in the same 6 square mile area of North St Paul, MN for 76 years and has visited nowhere but FL. A commonality with conservatives is many have absolutely never experienced life beyond their small world, hence why they can't see anything in a "for the greater good". It's why urban areas are liberal frankly. Exposure to multiple cultures, color of people, tend to grow peoples overall perspective on life, and understand life perspectives outside their own.

The most unfortunate (and unjust) part is that these people — I use the term loosely — are the ones who will be least affected by climate change.

Directly, yes. But given how much they rely on the federal government, blue states/cities, and everyone else contributing more to the economy, they will suffer.

95% true. The other 5% are sitting in FL recovering from a hurricane. But yeah, in typical conservative fashion, kick the can down the road and let future generations deal with it..

oh for sure, there will be a period of reckoning when it comes to climate change. Will it be our kids, or their kids, etc...but at some point in the not so distant future, policy forming will include climate change at the front of every decision, because there will be no choice.

But it won't be a 76 year old racist woman who needs the help. Nope, she can kick that can down to her grandkids..

Let me offer an expanded view of my previous assertion.

These conservatives we are discussing who thumb their noses at efforts to mitigate climate change are the people in America least likely to be negatively affected by climate change.

But, add this: America and its citizens are far, far less likely to be negatively affected by climate change in relation to many other countries and peoples around the word, particularly the poorer ones, a vast amjority of whom have contributed very, very little to create the climate problem in the first place.

So the folks in question are arguably among the worst of the entire lot.

A closed mind in life definitely leads to a closed mind politically.

The best part of it is that the area she lives in, has become the area Hmong's move to (asians), and her entire neighborhood has shifted from 100% white to around 20% white. She just hides in her house cheeching cigarettes on her oxygen machine, just pissed at the world.

I am sorry to bash my mother in law, but what a ****ing miserable, close minded, mean person.
