Black Monday - Post em here!

    Love Smith HC Houston Texans
    Joe Woods DC Cleveland Browns
    Kliff Kingsbury HC Arizona Cardinals
    Steve Keim GM Arizona Cardinals
    Todd Downing OC Tennessee Titans
    Scott Turner OC Washington Commanders

Congrats to Vee who rids himself of the Madden fan wearing a browns hat who wasted a talented defense.

This will be the Texans 4th coach in 4 years. I just don’t see why coaches would want to go there. This is two years in a row that two well respected guys in the league were hired then fired by the Texans.

Kingsbury is out after 4 years. Will have an interesting offseason with Kyler coming off knee surgery, a high pick, a high profile retirement in Watt. This could be an attractive job, but might not be due to the roster aging in certain areas.

Lovie Smith went for 2 and the win, losing the #1 pick, and fired a few hours later (before Black Monday). Coincidence? I think not.

At least they have the #2 pick, other draft capital from Deshaun, a buttload of cap, and a weak division. But also do you really have faith in this owner/GM duo?

I don’t think he went for 2 then got fired. He knew he was getting fired and said **** it on the way out lol

Yeah that's what I think too lol. It's also probably his last game as a head coach in the NFL so he wanted to go out with a dub

    Lovie Smith

    Joe Woods

Black monday might be a poor choice, haha. (yes I know it is always called that)

With Todd Bowles and Ron Rivera also on the hot seat, the NFL is going to be pushing hard for more diverse coaching hires this offseason.

Woods knows DB coverages but that's it.

Inflexible with his play-calling which leads to a predictable defense. Can't make adjustments. Can't defend the run (Browns defensive run EPA is 7th worse in the last decade). Rarely manufactures pressure. We've had so many inexplicably blown coverages this year while ONLY RUSHING 4 GUYS. Offenses looking to run will gash us and offenses looking to pass will find their guys open all the time against our soft zone.

We're a 10 win team with a solid DC. Good riddance.

Smith should’ve never been hired, and neither should Bowles. I would’ve went with leftwich in Tampa.

I think smith winning that game is whatever. They still have the 2nd pick and if they’re that worried about it they can trade their 2nd rounder to get whatever QB they think they’re about to lose

If I’m the bears I take their 2nd rounder and whatever else, then I take a kings ransom for whomever is desperate enough for a QB

The PFF eye test stuff says one thing, but Football Outsiders DVOA says Cleveland's D was ranked #22 (#13 pass, #29 rush). This is one spot better than Kansas City #23 (#21 pass, #17 rush). Cleveland's D was also better than the Vikings, Jags, Giants and Lions. 3 of 4 of which are playoff teams.

The interesting bit is KC usually had a lead, so the opposing team was throwing (thus lower pass D) whereas Cleveland was a bad team and usually losing, so people just ran the clock instead.

TL-DR -- If Cleveland had a better offense, they wouldn't have been run on so much.

Leave Mayo because if Gannon gets pouched, I want Eagles to go after him

    Kingsbury out in AZ.

Former Patriots backup QB under Belichick, if he want to be an OC just throwing that out there.

As I put in the OP, interesting job to undertake. Kyler coming off ACL, high pick, but parts of that roster are aging and there’s still some massive holes despite roster investment. I think they are a team who might try to target a high profile retread name over a hot up and coming name.

LOL, Arizona extended him 10 months ago through 2027. I completely forgot about that.
