Here’s a weird thought: could we have gotten Judge? Clearly yes, yes we could have.

Definitely yes but we really would have had to pay a lot more cuz it was clear he wanted to play out west.

    Giants must be pissed.

The early bird gets the worm and so forth. Cohen jumped right on this.

As a SS Correa is worth every penny. But as a 3B, given his output from last season, the Mets probably overpaid. But what the heck, its only money!

I know a lot of people here are down on Escobar, but I'm not sure Correa is that substantial of an improvement offensively. It is an improvement no doubt. It remains to be seen how he will transition to 3B, but I wouldn't think that would be too hard for him.

I have to think that Escobar will be traded. He has a very reasonable $9M contract for this year and an option year. You could have him play 2B, which then moves McNeil to LF. Keeping Escobar on the bench would be a waste IMO. I think he probably gets traded.

Why trade Escobar. Against lefties last year in 162 ABS, his BA was 259, his OPS was 817, he had 9 HRs, 32 RBIs . He could be a RH DH or a permanent DH . He is suppose to be a great leader in the clubhouse and can play a few positions .

I'm actually thinking, hoping, that Vientos is the RH DH. Actually, to be honest, I don't even like the platoon at DH, albeit Vientos is not a good answer if the DH becomes a full-time role for one player. Technically speaking, based on his splits, Alvarez is probably the most suitable DH.

I'm really not a fan of Vogelbach and not a fan of the DH platoon.

Anyway, the Mets are rumored to be working on a trade with the White Sox. So Escobar could theoretically be part of the package sent to Chicago.
