NBC sports is reporting that it is a two year contract for $86.6 ($43.3 per year which exactly matches Scherzer) with a 3rd option year at $35M.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb...e9a8bf1f83852f

Also, Heyman is reporting that the $35M option vests if Verlander pitches 140 innings in 2024.

Trea Turner to the Phils for 11 years.

We need another pitcher and more offense.

Aaron Judge and Rodon let's go! LOL

They are not signing Rodon . He will get $30 million and the Mets are not paying $100 million for 3 pitchers

Stop dreaming . The Mets are not signing Rodon . He will get $30 million from either the Yankees or Dodgers or maybe the Giants and the Mets are not tying uo $100million + on three pitchers

Lol pitching in New York is so overblown. Dude has been an elite starter for 15+ years, have several cy youngs, and several World Series…he’s fine.

If Trump can become president with no political background then I don't understand why I need a resumé

. They aren’t signing Rodin too. It was going to be verlander or Rodon

OK but again METS chasing guys who did well in other places years ago or are old. Now the Mets have two old guys in their rotation. One who missed two years and will be 40 and the other who choked against Atlanta and the Padres. This could turn very good or blow up which we have seen before.

    This is awesome.

You preferred verlander who will be 40. Last year is last year and he struggled in playoffs. Now two old guys who coukd breakdown or struggle again come post season if they get there.

So they should sign guys who suck in other places?

What's the alternative? Be like sure we won 101 games last year but we shouldn't compete this year? Sounds like a plan. Are we really this mad we went out and got the reigning cy young winner after losing our second ace? Seriously?

No they should stop throwing dollars at a 40 year old pitcher. Yes pitched great last year but nit great post season. Another year older if he does not breakdown come post season. Now you have to very old pitchers as your 1 and 2. Do nit complain if they miss time or can not do it post season. We saw scherzer fail in Atlanta and post season and now a year older.

METS have a habit over the years no matter who owns the team in signing guys they hope will repeat what they did elsewhere even though they are much older. Cano, Bonilla, Biergarten, alomar etc.
