McGriff lead the league twice in homers, not that it’s the bar, but he was the best slugger in his league twice. And is 7 homers shy of a guaranteed induction. He’s deserving as far as I’m concerned. Did Longoria ever lead the league in anything?

Only reason he didn't get 500 was the strike as well otherwise he would of been voted in years ago.

Longoria led the league in games played once, grounding into double plays twice and sac flies once.

There is other guys I would definitely put in before him. I think Whitaker and Grinch should be in just to name a few.

I agree. When I saw Longoria play, I felt he was a good player. Not sure I'd ever consider him to have been the best player on his team, though. Whitaker should have gone in with Trammel. They were a team up the middle for the Tigers for years.

I feel the same way too. You can't have Trammell in there without Whitaker.
