so what is your plan for winning signing rodon trading for reynolds and letting judge walk?

That sounds like a viable plan B. I would also sign one of Correa / Turner/ Bogearts.

If Judge wants to leave he will. I don't think it's all about money for him.

I'm not saying they should or shouldn't get Reynolds. Just hope everyone knows he strikes out at nearly a 22% clip, with a walk rate under 10%. So I hope those who want him don't complain he strikes out a lot.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

Last season, the league average K% was 23.2%. The Yankees team average was in the middle of the MLB pack at 23%. The league average BB% was 8.7%. Seems he fits right in.

That wasn't really what I was getting at, but good info nonetheless. I'm just saying, some people on here really don't like the players that strike out at a decent clip. He is one of those players.

1 out of 4-5 times is annoying as hell. It's still wayyyy better than 1-3.
I really like Reynolds and I think he'd be a very good OF for the Yankees. It depends on the package they want.
I think it would be smarter for the Pirates to hold him till the trade deadline.

However Reynolds is a nightmare scenario if Judge signs with SF. If that happens the knee jerk will effectively hand the pirates anyone they ask for, to get that deal done and save face.

Reynolds checks a lot of boxes, switch hitter, speed, contact bat, very good glove. Can play all OF positions, although CF is his primary. Three years arb remaining. The only question in my mind is the cost. Many internet pundits suggest the package would start with Dominguez +++. Others suggest Pirates would try to get Peraza in the deal to fill their void at 2B. If Judge walks he would be a very good piece to have. Benintendi, Reynolds at the corners, Bader in CF....not too shabby. They would cover a lot of ground.

    Bader CF
    Reynolds RF
    Correa/Turner 3B
    Rizzo 1B
    Gio DH
    Beni LF
    Torres 2B
    Trevino/Rortvedt C
    Peraza SS

THat's not a bad consolation lineup

I agree. Theoretically you could also play Correa, Turner, et al at SS and move IKF to 3B. But Peraza appears to be the future might as well give him the chance to shine. He is also easy on Hal's wallet. Would the Yankees give up Peraza in the Reynolds deal? They are asking are the Yankees answering?

I have read more than once Correa has been discussed for 3B. First they have to move JD, or at the very least a portion of his salary.

I think they would part with one of Volpe/Peraza/Dom for Reynolds.

I agree. Seems to me Reynolds is what one hopes Dom to be. I would part with any one, but not two from that group. Maybe a Periera and Wells or Sweeney? Still very rich, but Reynolds is special.

reynolds hit 262 had by far his worst defensive year in his career and struck out 141 times in 542 at bats and that is what you call a special player?

What’s special about Reynolds? I mean, I don’t get it

He’s good for sure. But not an elite level player
