Contreras is definitely an upgrade offensively. He has a good arm and gets rid of the ball quickly. Not sure about his game-handling, though.

He said that he should be able to win a title with a $300MM payroll. I guess we'll see.
Its the other owner's fault. They knew Cohen had a ton of money and was a lifelong Mets fan. Now they're dealing with the fallout. I'm not complaining because its two fold. It benefits my team and it forces some of these owners to spend on players when MLB is making billions of dollars in revenue and have no excuse not to.
Winning a WS is hard and the Mets are guaranteed nothing obviously but you got to be in the dance to have a shot and I'm glad we have a guy who is willing to go for it. They still have holes but I am confident Cohen will address them this offseason and at the trade deadline.
All this offseason has taught me is that Ohtani is going to be MLB's first 500+million dollar player barring catastrophic injury.
That means he's going to be a Met.
Crossing my fingers but there are a lot of variables including whether or not he wants to play on the East Coast. There are other big market teams that are going to shove a **** ton of money his way as well.
I'm confident though because Billy Eppler was the guy who brought him to Anaheim so there's a relationship there.
