I think that this getting done so quickly is a good sign for Judge coming back. If Rizzo didn't think Judge had a strong possibility of re-signing, it doesn't make sense that he wouldn't investigate Houston and San Diego

Hal Steinbrenner just spoke for roughly a half-hour at the MLB owners meetings. Said in strong terms how much he wants Judge back and made it sound like Yankees will not be outbid for him.

Hal Steinbrenner said he's had one meeting w/ Aaron Judge where it was in person, just the two of them.

Steinbrenner added that he's talked to Judge two or three other times since the end of the season.

If that's the case, I wonder if you see a few players sign with the Yankees with Judge, or pretty quickly after. Hand shake agreements in place until after the Judge announcement.

The Yankees have added RHP Randy Vásquez to the Major League roster.


Vásquez, 24, is No. 14 prospect, per MLBPipeline

He posted a 3.90 ERA this year in 25 starts with Double-A Somerset.

Hal expressed to Judge his heavy preference not to draw this out all winter, so they can make other moves. Judge also gave Hal his word the Yanks will have the last chance. I believe Judge at his word on that one

With Rizzo resigning quickly on a fairly team friendly deal, without even investigating the Astro's or the Padres leaves me to believe Judge will sign in the next 2 weeks or so. If they are going to go big this off season, I think Judge has to sign quickly so they have time to clear money to pursue another Top FA..
