    That alone is very ironic.

I am certain that Judge will do something like that.

Then again, maybe he's just ****ing around with the Yankees and plans to announce he's signing with them

It doesn't seem that way but you never know.

or maybe, just maybe, he's making himself available to all teams who want to speak with him, so he doesn't have to visit them individually and wants to get everything out of the way, before making a decision. Then, he meets with the Yankees last and says, here it is boys $360 million or I sign with the Giants or another team.

As for the alternate plan, it's going to cost significantly more than retaining Judge. Correa is a Boras client and wants to be the highest paid SS and Boras wants to be the hero of the off-season, so with Trey Turner signing for $300 million, there's no way that he signs for less than that. Only dealing with relevant worth, Judge is worth least 1.5 to 2 times that of Correa.. So if Correa and Nimmo is the alternative, then we are looking at $325 million for Correa and $175 million for Nimmo for a total of $500 million. At that point, you might as well give Judge whatever he wants, because $360 million sounds cheap.

Love Rodon either way and once again, due to the inflation caused by Mets and Rangers, $180 million for Rodon for 6 years sounds right.

Reynolds is tricky, because it is going to be costly in terms of prospects. After making the foolish trades that we did at the deadline, the other teams interested in Reynolds have better prospects than we do. Since we have both Peraza and Volpe in our lineup and if we want to keep Dom, then it will be tough, unless we can flip Torres or prospects that we get for him in the deal. Reynolds has 3 years of control, so he will not come cheaply.

An improved backup catcher would be a welcome addition. Don't know what it will cost us, unless we reach down to AAA for Rohrback and that would be OK with me.

Great to know that Hicks will be gone in the next 3-4 days.
The question is what makes you better
Correa and Ninmo or Judge alone?
Lets say they manage to get Reynolds in either scenario

    Ninmo
    Correa
    Rizzo
    Stanton
    Reynolds
    Torres
    Bader
    Trevino
    Peraza

    Or

    Bader
    Judge
    Rizzo
    Stanton
    Reynolds
    Torres
    JD
    Trevino
    Peraza

2 hitters who are dangerous but not terrifying or on terrifying hitter?

True. But the fact that the Yankees had zero idea he was coming is weird.

Does anybody else think we will lose Judge. Only for the Yankees to say they tried their hardest to keep him. And then say, we mine as well reset our tax bill. And then not sign anyone of significance? Asking for a friend?
    What Rivalry?

I'd still take Judge (it's hard to get a 215 OPS+), but realize this, Correa and Nimmo will cost at least $100 million more than Judge, so it would be more like Judge and Benni vs Correa and Nimmo and then it's not even close.

I don't think so. I think the overreaction is more likely to avoid the rioting in the streets.

This is what i want. And if Stanton requests a trade, all the better. Reset. Give the kids a year. restock for 2024 with Ohtani and Devers.

I read he’s not planning on going but either way, I think his mind is made up and they are sorting out the details for him going to SF.

If Judge doesn't re-sign, I'm going to say this is going to be the plan. Let the kids develop an extra year and try to trade Stanton and anyone else who's not going to be here long term. People who say its not my money is insane. How do you think the Yankees pay for their players? Tickets are insane. Food and beer are insane. I would love to take my family to games I usually only go to a few and just take my son. I much rather drive to Baltimore and get front row seats for 1000% less.

Saying all this I still want to resign Judge and go for it. Judge, Rondon, trade Torres for stud pitching. Move Hicks and keep JD for the final year. Cabrera is the super utility guy who's playing everywhere. I don't mind him starting in LF. We do need another hitter though, so it depends what trades are out there.

I feel like if someone wants to stay, they know
The fact that he hasn’t committed, seems to me that he’s on the fence

I will not be shocked if he walks
I will not be shocked if he stays

What I don’t like is that he’s made it all about him. I think that sucks and it makes me view him in a different way. I hope he walks

I think they could do just what you suggested and I think they could knee jerk and act foolishly to overcompensate

It may be me, but I feel like people tend to stay, quickly but take time to leave

No way Hal does that. He got personally involved for 1 reason and that was to get him to resign. If Judge walks it’s because SF made an offer that we decided was just too much. Which I’m guessing is a crazy crazy number. As for a reset could be but would be more likely we do the opposite and go crazy with what the Mets are doing it’s very very hard to try do any reset. I’m guessing whomever signs Judge if it’s not us it’s for a number virtually all on here will agree it’s not worth the risk. Would anyone here go over 9/360?

I wouldn’t even go that high. But if that (or more) is what the numbers end up being, there’s no way to be mad at losing him

    Uh-oh

    Bryan Hoch
    @BryanHoch
Cashman said the Yankees have been given no assurance from Judge’s camp that they will have an opportunity to beat a final offer.

    Mark Feinsand
    @Feinsand
Cashman said the Yankees have made “a number of offers” to Judge this winter.

And then Cashman's interview, "If Aaron is coming, no one told me. I haven't been in contact with his camp. All I know is what I've seen in the media"
