3B ??? JD/IKF/Volpe or if they go big, Correa
    SS ??? Peraza

    LF Reynolds
    CF Bader
    RF Judge
    DH Stanton

Bench: Rortvedt, Hicks, ???, ??? Cabrera, Flo

So 5 more position players and seems they would be: IKF, Donaldson, Cabrera, Peraza, DJ

They’d have to decide how to best divide playing time for those 5. Keep in mind also that Volpe also factors in midseason. So if the plan is him at SS and Peraza at 2B, then you likely want to start Peraza at 2B even before Volpe is up. Also seems DJ might be on the IL for a while… maybe opens the door for a guy like Carpenter to come back?

My guess is they’d want to move Hicks and Donaldson. I’m guessing with Hicks that you’d have to eat so much money that it isn’t worth it. On Dondaldson, maybe the same thing with DJ already out and question marks in the infield.
I bolded what I would like to see at those spots.

I think they want to move on from JD and Hicks but moving them could be really tough. I suspect JD will be the starting 3B next season. Hicks will be the 4th OF. He's an easier move for sure but I don't know if they want to really do it. He's their type of player.

If he gets 11 you might as well give Judge 15!

There’s a pretty decent chance that Turner outperforms Judge over the next 9 years to be fair.

Clowns spot on. Love Volpe, but he's not a SS over Peraza. He doesn't have the range, arm or glove that Peraza does.. it's really not even close either. Volpe is far more Bregman type and the arm and glove will play up a half grade at 2nd.. Peraza is a special, special defensive SS.

If DJ was healthy I'd say him at 3rd. If they can they will move JD even if that means Cabrera/IKF at 3rd till DJ is back. Most likely they won't be able to move JD and he's at 3rd.

Congrats to the Yanks and specifically Hal on cementing the fact that he is not committed to winning. Nothing cements this more than giving Brian Cashman a 4 year deal. Guy has had the highest payroll to work with 95% of his tenure and has 1 World Series to show for it.

They will sell whomever to get Reynolds They will pay Beni. They will make a foolishly high offer to Rodon and they will make a foolishly, long commitment to Correa.

In short, I wouldn't be one bit shocked if they completely decimated the farm and got whomever they could as a big F-U to Judge.
Bogarts might be in play, I think he can play RF, Get him and Bene.. Reynolds... Yea might miss judge but I am not sure we wouldnt be better

Some where I missed the point we were talking about Turner getting 11 years, I thought you meant Judge lol.

And then come out and say you extended Cashmen, I thought for sure Judge was gone. I thought he didn't like Cash.

How ****ed is it that the biggest signing of the Yankees thus far is Cashman?

Hey! Don't diminish Hal's biggest off-season acquisition. Cashman being back is certainly a boost for the team.

It's friggin comedy how this team now operates.

I thought for sure Cashmen was gone if Judge came back, I wonder if they know he is going to SF. I don't even care at this point who the GM is cause if Hal is running this team, Minus have the Wilpoons take over... What we need back is Hank

It’s unlikely though that Volpe start the year up here though, right? And DJ is expected to miss the start of the year.

Seems to me like the best path would be to play Peraza at SS, keep Donaldson for 3B (ugh), go with Cabrera at 2B and IKF the utility guy. Hicks is your 4th OF, another bench spot goes to a backup C and bring back Carpenter for last bench spot.

Once DJ is healthy and/or Volpe forces a call up you deal with things then. Maybe you just DFA Donaldson. Maybe IKF has trade value worth moving on. Maybe you DFA Hicks since Cabrera can be your de facto 4th OF. By that point Stanton could be (or probably is?) on the IL and you have an open spot for a hitter.

Idk, unless they’re going buckwild and spending big on someone, seems to me it’s most logical to just keep JD and Hicks.
