    Well that's that.

Let's start listing our hopes, desires and complaints for this off season.

    Dream list

    1-Cashman goes

    2-Boone goes

    3-sign Judge

4-Trade JD, DJ and Hicks I love DJ but if this team wants to commit to Torres, I think they need to move on from him. IKF can be your utility player.

5-Let Beni walk- I like him but who knows how quickly Dom will be ready. Cabrera getting regular reps in LF will be fine.

    6-Let Marwin walk

7-Keep the pitching staff and development

    What I think happens
    1-Hal praises Cashman and Boone
    2-Cashman praises Boone
3-Judge walks because he sees what a **** show the FO is
4-The team goes desperation and overpays for Correa
5-They trade Peraza, Dom and Cabrera for a questionable pitcher.
6- They rush Volpe and Dom to the majors to quiet the fanbase and screw up their development.
7-Then they use their lack of ability to develop as a rational for trading specs for proven vets.

The first obvious thing to do is to sign Judge. He did run out of gas in the playoffs this year. The other obvious thing is that we all seem to want Cashman and Boone gone, but I'll focus on the players.

We need left handed hitting and pitching. Especially hitting, to get by the Astros dominant RH pitching both starters and in the bullpen. However, I don't know what we do about the hitting. Do we sign Benni and /or Carpenter? Will they be looking for more money than they're worth. Is signing Benni to a multi-year contract a smart thing to do? Anything more than 2-3 years is insane given what we have in the minor leagues. If Rizzo opts out do we re-sign him for more money and years, maybe another 2 year contract.

As for pitching, trading Waldichuck s/b a fireable offense and acquiring Montas should be even worse. I don't know what's available, probably some underperformer, somewhere, that our pitching gurus can resurrect. Otherwise, don't see a LH starter that would be available. Even the Japanese pitcher is RH and he might be better in the bullpen anyway.

Our best strategy, at this point, is to see what older players in the infield we can trade away to make room for younger minor leaguers. HIggy should be an easy move, because teams in need of a catcher won't blink at his salary. Then we can bring up Rohr for a lefty backup to Trevino. Donaldson and Hicks must go. Higgy should be paired with one of them and Montas with the other just to get rid of them. IKF is a waste and his days at SS should be over, but I'd be indifferent to keeping him, if it was to keep 3B warm for Volpe, when he's ready. LoCastro should not be on any roster in the majors.

Obviously Chapman, Britain and Green are gone.

I agree with the vast majority of above stated. #1 get Judge deal done. I agree, the quest for the HR record exhausted him and may have altered his swing a bit too much.

I cut Carpenter loose, in fact questioned the signing from the outset. I would resign Benintendi short term 1-2 at reasonable money. Paired with Bader and Judge very fast and skilled OF. Walking papers for Hicks and Donaldson.

Clearly pitching is a priority. As always, where do you find it when every team is looking. Imo Montas failed the audition, he is now free to go. Are any of the young guns ready?

Beni on a 1-2 (even 3) for the right price would be solid.

My question is, does Judge's post season slumps, cut his price?
To me, the HR chase was a test of pressure. He didn't handle it. He chased the HR instead of just hitting.
I truly believe that. I believe he let the pressure get to him. Much like he does in the playoffs. When he truly needs to be there, he often falls short.
It is certainly not all on him because the supporting cast was questionable but it does fall on his mindset

That's why you need other guys who can come through and take that off his shoulders.
I don't know if he's a Yankee. I will not be surprised either way.
The only thing that will shock me is if the FO does this in a methodical and intelligent manner.

Imo his pay day will remain unaffected. He is a premier power hitter. He is dangerous in any park. What may influence the number is his age and prime production years remaining. His size and relative health going forward are also concerns.

The HR chance was a huge win. He accomplished the goal. It garnered national attention. All eyes were on NY, Judge and the Yankees. You can't buy that level of PR. It may have taken it's toll however. Do you honestly believe if that was another player they would have done anything differently?

I do agree he has not been the post season player we all hoped he be. Don't know if it's the pressure of post season or an internal daemon that emerges in Oct.

Dr, quit making excuses for Judge with the homerun record. Bull crap! His swing was no different. The only thing different was him leading off to get more at bats.

Yankees didnít have a true #1 to pair with Cole. Sure Cortes had #1 type numbers but he should still be slotted as a 3.

Cashman screwed up by not going over the top to get Verlander back in 2017. All of that Yankee money and Hal was scared of his salary? Give me a freaking break. Hal doesnít want to piss off his pal owners? Do you think George gave a frog fats *** about feelings? He was cutthroat to his own mother.

This new way that they have been doing is not working. It is time to go back to the old way. Yes, financial muscle. You pay for the Bryce Harperís of the world. Seager or Correa should have been signed as well. And you go way over $25 million to get Verlander. And then you also trade the kids for Castilla.

    1. Cole
    2. Verlander
    3. Castilla
    4. Sevy
    5. Cortes

Now that is a rotation to win a Championship!

This old way of using kids is fine in certain areas but if you need to trade then so be it. You wait for the next crop.

These are the goddamn Yankees not the Devil Rays.

Nicky no excuse. Imo it took it's toll. Maybe as much mentally as physically.

Some of these issues raised sound very familiar, hmmmm. Where have I heard them before?

I wouldn't be surprised if Judge leaves this offseason especially after they got swept and he rejected the last offer on the extension which was 7 years $213 million

Yes. One, the Yankees handled that situation poorly. It wasnít awful, but it did seem like the Yankees released the numbers in attempt to be like, ďhey, we made a strong offer and this guy may not want to be here as much as he says he does.Ē Two, if the Yankees bring back both Cashman and Boone(likely) then why would Judge want to come back? It would just be more of the same. At the end of the day, money talks. But if a better run organization offers the same money, then I canít blame Judge one bit for leaving.

Iím fine with clearing out most of the lineup, and going with somewhat of a ďrebuildingĒ year. Do whatever you can to move out JD, and Hicks. Let IKF move on. Peraza is the SS. Make sure Cabrera gets plenty of ABs.

Well whatever they are going to do, the #1 priority will be GM position. Cashman contract is up.

I think it's past time for fresh voices. Believe a majority of the upper management has been in the positions for over 15 years.

I don't think Cashman leaves. I think he will be moved to a new position in the front office, they'll elevate a new puppet for him to control and it'll just continue the same ******** that's been going on.

I agree. The anals are piss poor but they are Cashman's baby so like Boone, I am sure they have done a great job. The players just didn't live up to the numbers the Anals suggested. That's is because Anals play the games, not players.
If players played, that would mean the Yankees would actually need to have people who could evaluate non anal aspects of players. Heaven forfend, that happen.

I will say, I have never seen this much bad press for the Yankees and specifically Cashman and Boone. There are tons of articles, op-eds, blogs... shelling Cashman and Boone.

If Hal comes out in support, nothing will change.
He's been quiet. The next couple days will be telling. If he was smart, he would make quick and decisive decisions, whatever they are. The longer he lets this fester, the weaker he will look.

I'd love for them to bring in guys from the Braves front office and anals team. They know when to walk away from players, they obviously make the right trade decision, they aren't afraid to give the kids a chance and they know when to sign them to long term, cheap deals. Everyone of their young, core players are already signed through the 29 season
