I agree. And they shouldn’t. I’d let him walk

But they MIGHT match, or come close. If he’s really all about winning, he wouldn’t take that much

A contract like that for someone his age is too much. It would be embarrassing for the Yankees to match or beat it.

Say you want about letting Judge walk. If he leaves this team isnt set up to win. We'd be lucky to make the playoffs next year. It doesnt matter who we sign. Judge was our whole offense. Going to play small ball now? To little too late. If judge leaves, Stanton should be traded to the dodgers in hopes to get 2 out of Andy Pages, Gavin Stone and or James Outman

And Judge is 31 years old and has only played three full seasons. Injuries held him back all his other years. Giving him almost $400 million is insane.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

For what it's worth, Martino is reporting the interest is real for Rodon and he feels similar interest in coming here. Also that people in front offices feel Yankees are still the expected landing spot for Judge.

If we're seeing #s leak this late, it's usually from the camp trying to get last minute bump up right before signing.

the Rodon interest and offer is for real, they want him badly with or without Judge..

Another piece of news that makes the Rodon thing even more sensical is that the Yanks are expecting Cole to opt out after the 24 season looking for Scherzer/ Degrom/ Verlander money. Unless they winning a WS with Cole, the expectation is they would let Cole walk, which makes sense.

If they are able to sign Rodon, with the BP we already have, that's the best pitching staff in BB. When you have elite pitching, you always have a shot

    Let him go
Being reported Yankees matched the 9/$360M offer.

    Stupid

In 4 years, we will all be screaming how friggin stupid they were to give him that deal.
People who love him will hate him.

    This is a bad move.

Hey, I hope I am wrong and he ages well and is still hitting 30+ hrs at age 39

I don't disagree. Considering a 9 yr deal at 31 yrs old is very risky business. BUT on the other hand, he is the face of the franchise, home grown, reigning HR champ and a generally good guy and solid citizen. Rock and a hard spot.
