No, the C that #1 was always considered the 1A because of the position, that he is likely to stay behind the plate and has a plus bat.
Baseball America still has Mayea #2. Also the scouting grade for 2-9 are basically the same. MLB.com just has them ranked to their preference..
Mayea has been at our DR academy working out with us since he defected from Cuba at 14. He wants to be a Yankee because of the developmental coaching and the way the Yanks take care of their MILB players, unlike most teams.. Yankees make sure their kids have places to live, provide meals as well as education and language classes. A number of other team have been know to have their kids sleep in cars and use the training facilities to stay during the day..
A big reason why we always get the IFA's we want has to do with the coaches, facilities, training tools they get access to and the overall way the Yanks take care of their kids.. Dodger, Mariners and Padres also do a very good job

agreed. I also agree with Clown that he's a lazy, whiny, giant twat
Sanchez is 100% on the Yanks MLB coaching staff and front office. Asking him to change catching coaches and styles 3 times in 4yrs, certainly didn't help.. Hard to stay in it at the plate when you're completely rebuilding your defensive style for 4yrs.
The only young player the Yanks haven't messed up out of the Baby Bombers is Judge. They messed with and screwed everyone else up after they we're successful in their first couple yrs.
I'm not worried whatsoever that this new group coming not performing to expectations, especially in their rookie yrs. It's yrs 3 on that concern me. That said, I've been saying for 2 season that this new group coming is nothing like the failed top specs we've had in the past. I don't think any of the group we'll see next yr or so will end up being MVP caliber players ( Volpe, Peraza, Dom, Wells and Pereira) Based on the reports i've read and video I've seen Arias and Jones do have MVP type tools/talent. I was told, especially Jones, will move very quickly throw the system and it isn't out of the question we could see him in CF in 24

That is not to say prospects aren't valuable. They are extremally valuable, but there has to be a balance. When the opportunity is there to get a star, the team can afford it, and the team is in win now mode, in no way should I guy who is over a year away in the minors stop that.

Twat used to be right there with the C word. If you called a woman a dumb twat it was the same as calling her a dumb C.
Having divided the past decade between London and the Iberian peninsula, I can tell you that the C word is the most commonly used. Especially by women. P***y is innocuous. I don't know one woman who is offended by it. But lots of men don't like being referred to as p***ies.
Anyway, enjoyed reading the t word, Clown. It's always been one of my favorites.
POPS - Crotona Park - 1952
I'm thrilled. If he's so bad defensively that he can't play the field in the NPB, which is more like AAA and every park has the exact same dimensions, no way did i want him in LF in YS. Plus he'll be 31 in July, so he's peaked already. He's a below avg runner and the last thing we need is a bad defender that can't take advantage of the new rules next yr. He choose a LF where he didn't have to worry about his range and arm is minimized
If we sign Rodon, I believe they will trade for Reynolds or McCarthy

Like I said before, I am talking about the logic being thrown around for years. I don't think even Peraza should block someone right now and he is MLB ready. My point is, especially someone who is year(s) away should not block a star. People are citing Arias as a reason to not sign a SS. By the time he is ready, most of the players on this team will be gone.
I agree. My point, we have fallen in love and been disappointed too often. I am very pragmatic in my approach to BB, I believe in the bird in hand philosophy. Give me the guy that has proven he can perform at the ML level. I like track records. I like to gamble....at the casinos. Very few prospects stick more than 1 yr at the ML level, however many are used to garner established players that can help a club immediately.
Sell the Team, HAL!
U do realize that we're talking about deal that last a minimum of 9yrs. Correa's defense wasn't elite anymore last yr and bad backs don't get better with age.
I never said don't sign anyone because of Arias. I listed a group of player the Yanks have invested 20m + and the majority of their top draft pick on in the last 3-4 yrs. The depth and talent at the middle INF positions is something they want high returns on. Arias does have the highest ceiling and floor of that whole group and I absolutely wouldn't trade him, but who saving a spot for him?
Anyone available in FA is a down grade defensively to Peraza at SS. It would be silly if anyone else is starting there next yr and if u want to say I wouldn't sign 1 of the SS due to him, you're right. Same thing with Volpe at 2nd. I really don't want to trade Dom, but I'm not saying don't sign anyone because he might be ready by the end of the yr or the start of 24.
IMO, Volpe and Peraza are special talents with skill sets that will play way up with the new rules and speed coming back into the game. We need young, cheap talent to put around the established players we have to keep that payroll under 290m this yr
