Verlander just signed with the Mets. It's believed to be $86 million for 2 years (same as Scherzer)) with an option for a third year. Don't have all the specifics.

I would of done a 2 year deal for Verlander....

My problem is, Cole, I love his story.... But has he been a Ace? He's on the border at this point for me. So adding Verlander made sense to me cause it took pressure off Cole

Regardless of what the Yankees say, I think they're waiting on Aaron Judge to make his decision.

I'd be shocked if they make any major moves before his decision, not impossible, just doesn't seem likely.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

Coming from the best source I have.

The Yankees, Pirates and Marlins are deep into a 3 team deal

Yankees Get Reynolds and a RP from the Pirates ( believed to be Bednar)

    Mia get Torres

Pirates get pitching specs believed to include Sixto Sanchez and other from Mia

Yankees would also send either Dom or Pereira AND Wells to Pitt

This is frame work of a deal they are discussing heavily. Medicals have been sent and this is coming from the same guy that told me last night about Verlander to the Mets, which i posted last night

There are other pieces moving, but those are the main pieces being discussed.

Yankees have face to face meeting today with both Judge and Rodon.

I have very little new on Judge from the Yanks side. SF has made an offer, but it does NOT exceed the Yanks offer by much. Maybe about 10m more over the course of 8yrs. Both offers were for 8yrs

Only a few headcases out there never changed and I think we all know who they were. They are in the minority. Tatis making 36 million AAV when he's 29-35 is hardly anything to complain about. By then most good players will be making that much, much less a superstar like Tatis, who could be the next Arod. Age 35 is the perfect age for a contract to end. If only Judge would take a contract till he was 35.

If the Padres say, yeah, we'll take Volpe, Schmidt, Torres and German and some lower level prospect you make that trade yesterday.
I agree. Attitude or not, he is an exceptional young player.

At least Verlander is not on the Astros anymore. Silver lining? (:

Yankees had been out on Verlander at that price for a bit. They’re very much on Rodon but not close to any agreement

Per Martino(if you can trust him)

Sounds like they didn't want to add the third option year.

Hear that Carlos Rodon has been seeking six years in talks w/ teams, something around $30M per. Yes, I cover the Yankees, and while they have been in contact, it's unclear atm whether they would be in for around that kind of commitment.

If this is true, that's pretty reasonable for his talent

reminds me on a much larger scale of last winter when the same 3 teams were talking Stallings and Sanchez. Mia cut us out because Cashman wanted Mia's top pitching spec and Stallings back.

The #Yankees and Pitcher Carlos Rodon are closing in on a 6 year deal where Rodon would make roughly 29 mil a year. #Yankees are very active right now, and are looking into trading for OF Bryan Reynolds and are actively shopping Domingo German, Aaron Hicks, and Gleyber Torres.

MVP Winner Aaron Judge is expected to Re-sign with the #Yankees. The Giants tried for the star OF but Aaron Judge stayed where he thought he had the best chance of winning. The contract is said to be the biggest in MLB History and be 8-9 years.

The #Mets and CY Young Winner Justin Verlander are closing in on a deal. The deal is going to be 2 years with a player option for the 3rd year. He will make 43.4 million per year with the deal being a 130 million dollar deal. Big time move for the #Mets
