I don’t think the leash will be short on Holmes but I can also see a scenario where if player is cruising Boone uses them to finish out the game. There is a lot of talent in the BP.

Minor tidbit. Apologize if it was already posted, I didn't see it here.

Carlos Beltran will no longer be in the Yannees broadcast booth. He is taking a front office type position with the Mets.

Cashman, also gave another soundbite that continues to make the team’s brass sound a little tone deaf, arguing “in the end, we were four games short of a World Series appearance, but it felt like the way our fanbase reacted and the press that we got knocked out in the first round.”

    Predictable as hell.

How about,? "We didn't get it done. The fans have a right to be upset. We are the Yankees. We need to win titles"

That's why people hate you as a GM. You are a little, smelly, douche.

And if they lost G5 of the ALDS v the Schmindians, we'd have been "five games short of a World Series appearance..."

    Lol. Yep.

(And if Judge hadn't carried the team, they wouldn't have made the playoffs)

I said it early in the preseason. Cashman would say, "this team got us on series away from the WS. We had a bunch of injuries. We are confident with them going forward"

His quote was actually worse. He is confronting fans. He is basically telling fans to **** off.

Doesn’t he understand that the Yankees from 2001-2022 have just one WS Title? And from 2004-2022 have been in just one WS?

I also get tired of his crapshoot bullschitt excuse. I think Cashman is the one who started participation trophies.

With all of the money the Yankees have spent since 2001 they should have at least 4 WS Titles.

And people said the 80s were a drought. 1979-1995 with just one WS appearance. That is 16 seasons. The current drought is worse. In the last 18 seasons the Yankees have been in just one WS.

    Time for new blood upstairs!

I could not agree more. The problem is the shareholders love the team

If George was still in charge Cashman would have been fired back in 2012 after the Tiger’s swept us in the ALCS. George was easier to persuade after the Dynasty Years. 4 out of 5 relaxed him. Everybody thought after the collapse in 2004 that Torre would have been fired and George didn’t do a thing. He was different so I feel he would have kept Cashman until 2012 but after that debacle vs Detroit he would have axed him IMO.

George would have never let Cashman leave the organization as he loved him like a son but he would have not been the GM after 2012.

The problem now is the Yankees are making a lot of profit. They win 90-100. They have lowered their standards considerably as winning the WS is not really the standard anymore. They will say that but just getting to Oct is good enough these days. I wish we had Cohen as owner. The Mets could be taking over NY for a while. And maybe Cohen pushes Hal more with the competitive factor of playing in NY as you want to be the top dog. But again, I don’t think Hal cares. He only cares about the bottom line. We get to Oct and throw the dice….

Glad to see Wells, Breaux, Dominguez, Dunham and Volpe on that list

Give them a chance to show what they can do

Seigler too. Wasn’t he a top draft pick? Trey Sweeney? He is a top pick as well.

It is time to schitt or get off of the pot.

I'm not surprised about Sweeney. There are already a ton of MIFs that are invited.
Mush, Sweeney was drafted in 2021. It's not like he's been festering in the minors.

Sweeney had his first full season last year and made it to Double-A while holding his own. After a few adjustments this year could be a big one.

Seigler is lower on the catching depth chart than a few others in the organization but he's average across the board and there's nothing saying he can't have a breakout this year. We will see but I would probably bet against him being the catcher in the Bronx any time soon.
