I guess it was meaningless in the sense that by winning it doesn’t mean Japan baseball is equal to MLB. But IMO this was a great tournament that was actually very good for baseball globally. And I think the players really enjoyed it as did the fans. I feel it was a great way to get more people excited about baseball tbh. Originally Posted by Bluefire

Maybe. I will always trash the WBC in March. Now if they want to move WBC to say 2 November, sometime soon after the World Series/Japan Series, I might reconsidered. Think about WBC in November. It would be playoff baseball and then some. It would rival NHL playoffs in intensity. WBC in March is nothing but a circus, imo. But hey people always loves the shiny objects.
