Ukraine submits accelerated application to Join NATO

If they are accepted into NATO then the continuing war with Russia automatically triggers article 5 and requires the US to militarily get involved.

Let him talk, it isn't on the table. Sorry, our leaders encourage this notion, thus getting him in this position, but let's end this war first then talk about what happens afterward. We can't keep draining our military arsenal for the defense of Ukraine in case we might need it in the Pacific. What is the endgame here? A Russian surrender? That isn't going to happen. All we are doing is just keeping this meat grinder of a war going by supplying the Ukrainians' arms.

Just so were clear, if they join it automatically triggers article 5 (because they're being attacked) and requires NATO to instantly get involved.

But isn’t that what you want? Or are you no longer playing that character?

Ukraine is not joining NATO. Only one NATO country would have to veto to kill it. It's not happening, nor should it.

You know if Biden hadn't won we probably wouldn't even be in NATO anymore, and we'd probably be sending aid to Russia.

If Russia invaded a NATO member, but you notice how they left alone the two NATO members on their border. They thought they saw weakness and tried to take it.
