Longtime Dallas fan, never been here (but spend a lot of time over in the baseball forum), looks dead but I see some people in forum ... bit no new posts in ages. I am looking for smart educated discussions on all things Cowboy. Who is out here?

Hey Jimbo, your best bet honestly will be in the main NFL forum and the NFC East thread there. This Cowboys forum is mostly dead and there is a lot more discussion that goes on there. You'll have to deal with a few Eagles fans though too haha
If people want to start posting in here again for Cowboys focused stuff I'm happy to participate again
Won’t hurt to start checking this forum again. It’s not like I don’t already have it saved on my phone.
Welcome to the forum Jimbo, so what’s your opinion on Cooper Rush?
Rush is a backup QB, no more, I'm Happy with the Wins, I will give him credit for not losing the games. But He does not have the tool set to carry this or any other team.
Dak is a top 10 QB. Injuries are now a concern. The Dak hate is overblown. There is a large group who think that with his contract is should be Elite. He just very good, but a little more inconsistent then he should be. His contract is fits with with the NFL going rate. I think some of the hate is for years everyone was talking about making the offense DAK FRIENDLY, which too me implies limitations in his game, so much so that he cant run a NFL offense, therefore that contract wouldnt make sense. He is better than that. Moore was suppose to be this Offense Guru, put people on motion, confuse the Defense, but it seems hes the one that regressed. The Offense is very predictable.
My biggest issue with the off season moves of Collins and Cooper are
Collins (needed to bring in a FA for depth, Peters was a great signing, just months late)
Cooper right or wrong about moving on from him, He didnt produce the last half of last year, but we should have been able to recoup more draft value than Dallas Got.
DLaw - better than what most see, hopefully MNF game starts to reverse those thoughts
Diggs, dont understand all the hate against him either. Yes he can be a bit over aggressive, hes young and he will tone it down, but all those interceptions more than make up for it.
Parsons...... all the hype he is getting is valid.... one of the best I've seen in Dallas. Its premature to say hes LT, but its valid to say he can be.
Sorry to disagree with you on Dak. He's an average QB, there was a reason he was a 4th round pick. My biggest complaint is he can't read a defense, I was hoping over time he'd learn that skill. It seems like he is starting to get better at it. Rush is a great backup QB, he's not going to play outside of what he is capable of. Also helps that he can read a defense and get the ball out quickly. He's never going to scare a team with his running, he might be slower than Marino.
Collins was what it was, Steele is fine and getting better each week. Plus when Tyron comes back, I'd move him to RT or LG, Tyler would stay at LT or use Tyron to trade for someone or a draft pick (still should get you a 3rd).
Even the Cooper deal was understandable, he wasn't playing like a true #1 WR. The rest of the league knew Dallas was trying to trade him and his value dropped. Lamb I don't think is a true #1 either. But with Gallup back you will have a 2A and 2B WR, teams can't just double Lamb now.
I'd pursue trading Dalton Schultz for a 2nd or even a 1st. Ferguson and Hendershot will be fine.
DLaw doesn't always show up on the sack stat, but he comes up with great stops when needed. I didn't care about Gregory going to Denver, Armstrong is fine. Plus I wanted Fowler as soon as Atlanta released him.
Diggs does give up a lot of yards, that's the knock against him. Boom or Bust. This year he doesn't have the INT's but he's gotten better at giving up big plays.
Parsons is good if not great already, hopefully he stays in Dallas for his whole career.

Cooper Rush is definitely proving himself to be a viable backup. I really don't get these people trying to turn this into a Rush v Dak thing. I think it mostly just happens because of the freaking media and how many Cowboys fans there are. Just gets a ton of views/clicks.
But I'm sure happy with how Rush has performed. I was wrong about him in the preseason where I wanted them to go with Grier.
I guess Jimbo gave up
