There’s more to football than beating bad teams. Hurts wasn’t good last season. He has been very good this season and that is why you aren’t hearing any criticism. Almost like the criticism is based on play and not color? Huh? Funny how that works. Such a lazy take to claim racism for QBs who can run but have struggled to pass the ball. Historically, those types of QBs have won nothing. Lamar has gotten completely neutralized in the playoffs. It’s more than a fair question to ask if a guy is a franchise QB if he can’t beat defenses with the arm. You don’t hear racism takes for guys like Watson, Mahomes, or Wilson because those guys can throw the football and there are no questions there. Funny how that works again.

The if he was white argument is beyond dumb as well. Those guys have to prove themselves the same exact way. People are saying the same thing about young white QBs needing to prove themselves as well. Look at Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Baker Mayfield, etc. No one is giving those types of guys a pass or benefit of the doubt. They need to improve just like Hurts did. Guys like Goff, Wentz, Daniel Jones, etc have been written off as not good. Where’s their benefit of the doubt? Or does that not fit your bad argument?

Also funny to claim racism when the franchises three most famous QBs are Cunningham, McNabb, and Vick.

Also, Hurts last year was mostly a one read and run QB which simply has not and will not ever work in the NFL. That has nothing to do with skin color. That is factual evidence you can see from watching the games. Hurts was also inaccurate last year and his timing was bad. Those are all facts. That is the definition of someone who needs to prove himself and get better.

The funny thing is, typical racism towards black people targets their character and morals. That is the one place you will never hear anything bad about Hurts ever. His character and leadership have been off the charts since he got drafted. But hey….racism.

lol there is 0 proof of this and even if it were true its very rare that a guy like watson is usually available to the point most teams outside of buffalo/chiefs checked in on watson... It’s been widely reported that the Eagles made a run at Russ AND Watson. The reason they didn’t get one was because neither wanted to come to Philly. Hurts wasn’t bad last season, he wasn’t good either. He was in the middle. The Eagles didn’t see Hurts making a huge leap with his passing but are glad to be wrong on that one if Hurts keeps this up. Not that hard to understand. Wild to claim “0 proof” and “throwing stuff at a wall hoping it sticks” when this has been talked about all offseason. Nothing I said is new, seems like you just don’t keep up with football.

Hurts was Tim Tebow with a better arm in 2021. Trash for 45 minutes, but became a bulldozer at the end of each half. The only difference is the dude was ****ing horrendous in the playoff game whereas Tebow 3:16 pulled the upset.
