GT 3: Texans @ Bears, 25 Sep 2022, 12 PM CT, CBS TV

Well, that was a sober reality check. We got outclassed in every phase as the Pack owned us yet again in prime time. We are the NFL's version of "The Not Ready for Primetime Players".
Since the schedule is light for the next 2 weeks let's see if Getsy can get Fields a couple of efficiently called games & open up the passing game.

I think we score a bit more and the D plays better.

    Bears 27
    Texans 20

Indianapolis in Week 1 at home, Houston went on the road as a double-digit underdog (+10.5) in Week 2 and lost to the Denver Broncos 16-9.
The Bears, after beating the 49ers in a downpour in Week 1, went on the road to Green Bay for the Week 2 Sunday night game and lost by 17 points (27-10) as 6.5-point underdogs. Chicago gave up 170 total yards (132 rushing, 38 receiving) and 2 TDs to RB Aaron Jones. Meanwhile, the Bears offense, absent in Week 1, was not much of a threat in Week 2 either, finishing with 228 total yards Ė just 48 passing.

We probably should win, but Houston is not that bad and Lovie is still a good Defensive coach.

Win or lose, I just want noticeable improvement from Fields.

Pretty much this. Would like to see some improvement from the D as well. Specifically, Gordon.

Gordon did have a bad game, but I hope it was just a learning experience.

Way too early to make any conclusions. The fan base wanted both Tillman and Fuller gone before they came into their own. CB takes some time. Not to excuse Gordon because he has looked bad, but heís also learning and playing outside and NB, which is a tall order for a rook

I donít have high hopes for the D, personally.

The secondary is inexperienced, aside from Jackson, and then we have Vildor starting. The LB group has to be among the worst in the league, too. Until we see real improvements from Brisker and especially Gordon, I think weíre going to struggle Defensively.

I am OK suffering through struggles from guys like Gordon or Brisker. I trust that Eberflus knows what to look for in a guy playing in his defense. Let them learn by playing this year as the team rebuilds and hopefully be ready to play the position well starting next year.

Both of those guys show promise, they just make some young mistakes and have a some weaknesses to work on. That is to be expected.

I donít get all this bashing on Gordon and Brisker. We just gonna ignore the fact that they were starting in their 2nd career games against one of the GOATs at the QB position? It was obvious Rodgers was gonna look to exploit them, thatís what all the greats do against inexperienced DBs. Theyíll both be great players.

Brisker has been fine, IMO. Gordon has looked lost. Got completely torched by Aiyuk in the first game and was awful against GB. Rodgers targeted him for a reason.

I don't see why anyone cares about anything other than how Fields plays this year. If the defense sucks who cares. We've had great defenses before. They don't sustain. Get me a good quarterback.

I mean sure, Fields is the most important piece but other players developing is kind of important too lol

Hopefully Fields develops and improves as well as some of the other young guys.

Its too early to write off any of our players, let alone the young guys. Hopefully they all show signs of improvement his week, just have to take it one game at a time.

Fields is obviously the most important, but he just refuses to let go of the ball quickly... Getz should design around this with roll outs, short routes.. plays that require him to release quickly. Thats what I am hoping to see Sunday.

Only 2 games but AQ Muhammad has been a big disappointment for me. Looks incredibly slow. Gipson and Robinson should be taking more of his reps moving forward.

Exactly what I was noticing by my naked eye. Looks like the Bears best offensive linemen to me so far. Good thing they're rotating him every other series.

Not speaking for Bibs, but from my perspective itís a lot easier to build/rebuild a Defense (Angelo & Pace both did it) and you have more resources available to do it, compared to landing a Franchise QB.

I mean, sure, if Brisker and Gordon both pan out then thatís great, but if they flop then itís nowhere close to as damaging if Fields flops. If that were to happen then our rebuild hasnít even really started yet.
