Cleveland's remaining schedule is so easy.
If we can take 3 of 4 from them you never know. That leads them into that Rays series. That could loom large. We need the Rangers to steal a game or 2 from them as well.

Clearly not mathematically out of it.
However, baseball wise, it's gotta be like 20%

Lets just say for ***** and giggles we win and the Guardians lose today, and we beat the Guardians tomorrow.
That puts us basically 2 games out. We have to believe the Twins aren't going to get swept in a 5 game series. They are still mathematically in it too, so they aren't going to lay down and die over the weekend. That series is going to take a lot out of both teams. 5 games in 4 days with no off days heading into the 3 games in Chicago for the Guardians. That is a big advantage for us. We need to take care of business tonight, take care of business tomorrow, and take care of business as easily as possible this weekend.

Guardians leading into our series next week:
    Lose to Angels today
    Lose to Sox tomorrow
Lose 2 of 5 vs the Twins

White Sox leading into our series next week:
    Beat Rockies today
    Beat Indians tomorrow
Win 2 of 3 vs the Tigers

That would put us 1 back in the Loss column at home for 3 vs. the Guardians, coming off a long stretch with no days off, playing 5 games in 4 days, and us coming off a bye. Of course that's best case scenario. Lets assume they beat the Angels today, still lose 2 over the weekend, and lose to us, we are still in good shape. Especially if we can sweep the Tigers this weekend. It's all hypotheticals, but it's still very possible.

Agreed. About 20% possible. Same scenario for five seasons in a row and one of those we win the division. The rest we are out completely.

Hey I'll take the 20%, which is better then the -5% we gave ourselves after that Dbacks series.

It doesn't help any ... but I can't help but think about the games they just gave away, Engle dropping a ball in Baltimore, whatever happened (triple play) on the 4th of July, the list is way too long.
If they got half of those games back as Ws, they are about 5 up.

20 games to go, can they win 15 of them? If they do-will it matter?

6 run 9th inning vs. the Guardians was a bad one.

Today was not the day for Cease to be ice cold. Hope he picks it up and our bats pick up his bad start. Guardians trailing, we have to take advantage.

We are only a few weeks away from those long Fall/Winter/Spring days and nights without major league baseball games to watch.

After a season of what we had to watch, a reprieve is probably welcome. Iím actually glad they didnít back their way in to the playoffs. They donít deserve to make it.
