The good news, they still have the second best record in the AL. They lead the AL East by 10 games. The bad news, they are playing like ****. Judge still has NO protection. The once bullet proof BP has shown some vulnerability. Injuries are a reality all teams must deal with, not an excuse an unfortunate reality. The rotation is not as sharp as it once was. The offense can become anemic at the most inopportune time.
IMO, they were not as good as they appeared in first half AND are not as bad as they appear at the moment. The rotation played above their heads in first half and have now come back to earth. The offense in second half needs to pick up the pace.
They need a spark, something to light the fire. Is Florial that player? IDK. BUT it can't hurt. Hicks looks like he's aged a decade in a few months. Bader is no help at the moment but could he be the sperk? Maybe next year.
