    Yankees at Pittsburgh 7/5-7/6

    Game 1, 7/5/2022, 7:05 PM
Jameson Taillon RHP (9-1, 3.32 ERA) vs. TBD

    Game 2, 7/6/2022, 7:05 pm
Luis Severino RHP (4-3, 3.35 ERA) vs. TBD

Aside from being a potential audition for Bryan Reynolds, the Yankees could see several of their former prospects in these two games. There is an outside chance they could see Roansy Contreras, who pitched on 7/1, in game two. He is coming off his worst start of the season lasting just 1.2 innings. We will also likely get to watch Diego Castillo and Hoy Jun Park play for the Pirates. Neither is having a good season. This should be two easy wins for the Yankees.

Yankees have fallen a little behind the 98 Yankees pace.

They are now 2 games behind.

they were never comparable to the 98 team which had proven championship players. as a team they hit 50 points higher then the current yanks..

    A little hint my friend

The entire 1998 MLB batting averages were significantly higher than the 2022 MLB batting averages.

    Not comparable because of era.

I can only go by the Win/Loss records.

But if you want to play that game.

    1998 Yanks ERA 3.82
    2022 Yanks ERA 2.90

So why do you ignore that particular stat? That is a full run!

e.r.a were higher back then because a lot of players were on roids which made it harder for pitchers to navigate through lineups...

If teams always won when expected Vegas would have gone bankrupt a very long time ago. It's the old adage "that's why they play the games." I'll start being more concerned when the Yankees start losing multiple series.

There's work to be done for this team to have a high probability of beating Houston in the playoffs. As of now I'd put it at a coin flip. Johnny_ny, you don't have to say it, I know you think it's less than that.

This is totally NOT an Oswald Peraza & Estevan Florial propaganda tweet, but..

    Peraza since 5/25: .306/.378/.531 140wRC+
    Florial since 4/27: .344/.422/.560 164wRC+

And both are very good, athletic defenders with great speed. Just sayin
