Dusty is a good field manager. One of the old school managers that knows the damn game very well and doesn’t need some stupid computer making out his lineups. I never liked him as a Dodger player back in the late 70s and very early 80s as we faced him 3X in the World Series(77,78,81) but as a manager I respect him.
What has catapulted Houston is Justin Verlander. I think he will have 2nd half engine troubles. That arm has a lot of mileage on it.

Cole needs to set the tone early and hopefully we can get him an early lead to take off the pressure. The good thing is we have a pretty rested bullie with King ready to go multiple innings…..

I gotta admit it. I’m starting to like Boone. He has grizzled some since 2018. He looks older now and not some school boy anymore. Back in 2018 he still looked like a ball player. Now he has a few LBs in the midsection that he has to cover up with his pullover and has a little weather beaten face….He is starting to resemble his old man with his looks now. His old man was a terrific catcher back in the late 70s.

Taillon is pitching himself into a big contract. He's pitched like a number 2 all yr. If he stays healthy and can finish the yr with an ERA below 3.50, he;s going to get paid.
5yrs 90m isn't unrealistic for him IMO

JD to the IL with shoulder inflammation
Uh oh. Are they trying to get rid of him?
Ignorance is bliss
I rather he not. I just don't like his health history. Taillon isn't so good I'd overlook that. I think Michael King can easily take his spot, plus we also have sears, wesneski, schmidt and waldichuk. And after next season, Verlander, Ohtani, Nola, Snell, Glasnow, Castillo, Urias, Rodon, Lynn and other TORPS will also be available. It's going to be hard to pass up some of the pitchers in that crop. I'd have zero problem passing on Monty and Sevy.
