yanks pitching had been great in the first 2 games... they will need it ro make up for for the slumping offense..

    Torres looks great.

Also, I have loved Carpenter's at bats so far. The guy has looked good in every at bat, and he hit a homerun off a tough lefty today. He might be just the spark they need with all the injuries. He's been on base in 4/8 at bats (including his HBP).

Btw, the Rays are now 6.5 games back on the Yankees. To get out of this series anything better than that, they will have to beat both Gerrit Cole and Luis Severino. I like our chances.

Yanks are a good team. Good teams find ways to win. CashmN might have struck gold with Carpenter. He plays hard and knows what it takes to win. Torres seems to be much smoother with the bat. 25-30 bombs looks possible. And the pitching is what has carried this team. Blake has been tremendous!

Everything that Cashman envisioned is coming true right now.

Too bad the injuries have hit the team.

Cole needs to continue the winning ways!

    Go Yanks!

Clay Holmes is pretty much unbeatable at this point. He's got all the tools to be the yankees next closer by a long mile.

I agree, I would be surprised if we lost both. It's a little odd but I have a little more faith in Sevy than Cole right now. Now if we sweep and leave 8.5 games up, it's going to be very tough for anyone in our division to catch us.

The starting pitching we have been getting is unreal, especially in this age of the game. All the starters have gone at least 6IN plus this last turn through? Whatever it's been, it's ridiculously good.

Even what Chapman gets back, Holmes should still close. He's almost automatic and he's hitting 100 with that sinker now, forget about it.

Carpenter has looked really, really good. His AB's look like profession, veteran AB's. I'd like to see what he looks like on the field but his glove was always solid.

The offense is figuring out a way to win, but that side of the ball needs to get better

His heavy sinker is almost as good as Moís cutter. Holmes is that dominant right now.

The starting pitching staff has really stepped up to take a lot of the usual innings load off our depleted relief crew; couldn't have come at a more opportune time!

    Just as everyone projected,

Nestor and Taillon are arguably our best starters and Clay Holmes is our best reliever (and maybe in all of baseball).

Astros are looking dangerous. They currently are beating the Yankees in both ERA and Runs scored in less innings. The only other team in the league to be beating the Yankees in both categories is the Dodgers.
