Wow, I was waiting to see if anyone was offended by Donaldson's comments, before I gave my opinion, trying not to upset the most sensitive people here. However, I'm proud to say that it appears that the entire message board gets it. Anderson's an idiot, Larissa is a twat and if the league had any balls they'd warn the White Sox for instigating a fight.

Neither Anderson, nor Larussa would go on record to say exactly what was said and just played the race card. Donaldson stepped up and honestly admitted exactly what he said immediately when he was questioned. Then, Anderson was reinterviewed and confirmed that Donaldson called him "Jackie."

As for nicknames, I understand that people sometimes don't like them and Anderson might actually be embarrassed by what he himself said and doesn't want his own words thrown back at him. However, by being sensitive about it and almost causing a brawl, "Jackie" Anderson has just acted in a manner that disgraces Jackie Robinson's humility and grace under pressure. If the opposing fans start crudely chanting "Jackie, Jackie Jackie," when he comes to bat, he will deserve it, even thoughJackie Robinson's memory wouldn't.

We live in a clown world. The real danger here to me is that if they suspend Donaldson any minority player can cry racism for saying virtually anything negative to them. I guarantee the reverse would not be true though. Someone could use an actual racial slur at Donaldson and no suspensions would be handed out.

No we don't. Clown's world is about humor and tolerance even at the worst of the worst. We as a society have lost our ability to laugh off things we don't agree with instead of screaming bloody murder for anything that upsets out sensibilities.
