I'll update the starters when they are announced. I assume Cueto will be one of the starters for either today or tomorrow.

A nice 5 game sweep would be great here, considering the Sox go to New York this weekend. Then come home to play Boston and the Cubs next week.

It sucks when your 4 and 5 starters are the only ones listed in a 5 game series, and the rest are TBD

    It's definitely a short history:
    1983 vs Baltimore
    1993 vs Toronto
    2000 vs Seattle
    2008 vs Tampa
Oakland, Houston ... did I miss anyone?

At bare minimum they have to take 3, but they really need 4/5. If this team is still at/near .500 in June something has to happen.

Wouldn't Cease be the only one available by Tuesday? How long is Gio out? Cueto will for sure get 1 start. Who gets the other? Their favorite spot starter is injured in Lambert. Wes Benjamin or Davis Martin are the only 2 that deserve a shot. I'd prefer to avoid a BP Game since that will just tax our Pen further.

Gio is COVID. It has to run it's course.
Shouldn't Kopech get one of the starts? Dang it. I am all messed up. Kopech went yesterday so he starts Friday.
I would think Cueto gets one.
That leaves another minor league call up and Lopez I would imagine.

We need our hitters to start hitting! Our schedule is pretty miserable until the all star break. We are 1 GB from the WC, and 3 GB in the AL Central. We need to go on another run and make sure we stay right in the thick of both. Once August comes along, "IF" we are healthyish, we should go on a run with a much weaker schedule on paper. Lots can change from now til then though.

But it all depends on our hitting and defense. If both stay inconsistent like this, we are going to be in for a long season. Anderson, Robert, and Vaughn are our only guys hitting above .240! That is so bad!

Kopech threw yesterday. His next start is Friday. We have to call up 2 guys unless Gio was just close contact and returns today or tomorrow. Cease Threw Thursday so he's available for 1 of tomorrow's games. Keuchel and Velly are already announced.

Lopez threw an inning yesterday so maybe Cueto gets the start today, and Lopez is an opener Tuesday. He's only been used twice since May 10th so it's not like he's taxed. But I still don't love that idea with how much our BP has been used, and how many games we have this week. We should probably just give a start to Benjamin or Martin.

I agree. We can have tremendous pitching but if we don't score we can't win.

So maybe Cueto, Lopez, Velly, Kuechel and Cease?

And Id expect a very long leash with each.
