Sure because they have software that automatically filters out pornographic images, buzzwords, etc. For example, IG doesn't ban Onlyfans girls unless they link their OF page in their profile or their captions.

Instagram has 1.2 billion users. Facebook has almost 3 billion. There are very few actual human people looking at these things. Getting an actual person to look at anything, much less anything in context, is virtually impossible. The idea that any individual would be able to post things and not get banned is not remotely shocking.

Weirdly, it turns out being the President gets you more attention. Who knew?

Sounds similar to some of the idiotic takes we're seeing within the pages of PSD.

Other platforms literally flag words and phrases. My point being, the next mass shooter is very likely posting about it right now and we’ll be looking back after he kills 10-15+ saying, “How could we have prevented this?”

This is true too. What this kid was posting was a needle in a giant haystack stuff.

Seems weird for his father to want to arm those teachers then.

But that was back in 2018, he's probably changed his mind by now.

Also, FWIW, Facebook banned Trump citing public safety concerns, but this kid was all over the Internet on several social media platforms including Facebook and various other places displaying behavior that actually should have raised concern for public safety.
Wel have your been on the wider internet? There are literally hundreds of thousands of not millions of gruesome comments online to where, if the poster later went and shot up a school people would point to those posts as proof we should have seen it coming.

I asked earlier and maybe people thought I was being facetious. But if we believe the solution is identifying and catching their online posts, who does it and how? The internet is a massive place. Relying on people who know the subject to know what is just regular internet trolling and legitimate warning signs is not going to work (obviously since in every school shooting we’ve had, nobody around them acted on their messages in time to stop it).

So who and how do we search and identify the warning signs and what do we do once they’ve been identified? It’s Easy to say, but in practice it’s a lot harder to do than you think.

Sure but as to Nate's point, there are literally billions of users on these platforms. If they could legislate them all to the extent that it deserved or where it could be properly reported to authorities, you dont think they would? Think about how many posts are made per day.

So someone saying they are going to shoot people isn’t a cause for concern online if they don’t have enough followers to matter?

I mean, we could start with the most populated social media platforms.

Somewhere on the dark Internet people are trading extremely graphic videos in places that most don’t know exist. So that means we shouldn’t pay a little more attention to Facebook? That makes absolutely no sense.
