Billy McKinney, he's back with the A's the team that drafted him. Always liked his bat, just can't put it all together; I really thought the Dodgers might be able to "fix" him

I was hopeful for both Mckinney and Drury when we made the trade. Had wanted prospects but thought regular playing time woulda worked.
Flop. So happy atkins has improved since then. Seems like he’s starting to grasp the level of talent you need in the ALE.
Always felt like Billy and Drury were fill ins and either they figured it out or would be easily replaced.
The Lost Boys of PSD
Wrong. You don't deal your top pitcher for rebound former first round prospects who had no track record to measure. You get high ceiling top prospects when you are going into a rebuild. If they were signed as free agents, then that's a different story. Chapman was a good buy low deal because he already has a proven track record. Atkins was the laughing stock of baseball after the Happ deal. Cashman took full advantage of him.

Drury had a good season in Arozona before a bad season with the Yankees.
Happ possibly stressed at deadline time that year. Stunk for 4 starts or so before being traded.
Classic Atkins. Held onto him too long. I remember watching a Steve Phillips report on TSN before those 4 games where even he suggested that the Jays not wait on trading Happ because a bad start or two would have decreased Happ's value. And I believe up until those four starts, Happ pitched some gems.
