add. Do the Republicans have a better counter plan to solve the problem? And how is it different than the Democrats. What were the Republicans objections to the Dems plan?

I basically see Congress, on both sides of the fences, not doing anything. It happen so often that I have quit asking the whys because it usually just come down to supporting your party and obstructing the other party policy.

When they do agree on something, it's a pork fest.

Googled it. Not everything is legitimate and deserving of being recognized as such.

The objection to the plan is it doesn't do anything and is just pork. It's action theater.
Even if you're not doing anything just make it look like you are.

I find it very interesting that some administration personnel knew many months ago about the formula shortage was going to occur. Enough to alert FEMA which TOOK ACTION to make sure that they had enough stuff to stockpile for the illegal aliens needing formular for their kids. But why didn't this adminsitration do anything at all for American families who they knew would face shortages and yet did nothing about it. It was an easy fix for anyone with a brain. Once again, this would have never happened under the Republicans and Trump. If they would have ignored it like Biden did, they would have been vilified. It is Fing ridiculous.

I still don't think the DPA applies to this situation, but unless someone is going to sue them to prevent it, they will be able to use it. Baby formula doesn't fit into my definition of a national security issue, as important as it may be. But it is probably the only politically tenable option. Rule of law is only important if you can govern.
