A deadbeat Democrat is a deadbeat as well. A deadbeat anything is a deadbeat.
Man dbroncos78087 is so insightful.
Hats off to Burchett trying his best to put an end to this lunacy from everyone else.

If republicans were so concerned with the debt ceiling, perhaps they wouldn't be the ones adding more to the debt. Yet over the course of time, this is exactly what they do.
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
The Democrats should have ended the lunacy when they controlled by chambers by removing the debt ceiling from existence. It serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever. The only thing it is, is an artificial time bomb to try to destroy the economy. It only serves to be raised when it is reached. It NEVER results in any debt or deficit reduction. What positive function has it ever served?
And if the Democrats were so concerned with the future they'd work on the crisis. Yet over the course of time, this is exactly the concern they do not posses.
Again, both parties dump on the debt. There is at least one person in Congress willing to do the right thing for Americans concerning this.

Democrats do work on the crisis, by bringing in more revenue and avoiding raising the debt as much.
Both parties do dump on the debt, with your party dumping on it quite a bit more. Yet the same party also cries about spending and the debt exponentially more despite never doing a single thing about it.

Not raising the debt ceiling won't do anything to fix the problem. Ironically enough it would actually make the debt infinitely worse. It would shoot our interest rates through the roof...meaning we pay way more debt. But go one about how he's trying to fix the problem. Can you tell me what reductions in FUTURE spending that he's proposing to cut in order to allow the government to pay for PAST spending?
No, they are guilty of spending more than taking in. Unless I am wrong, the last time we had success in obeying a budget was under the Republican Congress with House Leader Newt Gingrich.
Now there is a group of uneducated folks referring to the MASSIVE increase under the previous administration without qualifying that there was an epidemic on the hands of not just the US but the world.

There are, indeed, two main heroes in the story of the remarkable budget surplus of 1998, but neither of them are Newt Gingrich or his Republican Congress. It turns out that their contribution to deficit reduction did more harm than good. No, the true heroes of deficit reduction were, first, President Clinton, whose 1993 budget—passed without a single Republican vote—raised taxes on the wealthy and dramatically altered the nation’s fiscal path, and second, a steadily improving economy. Those two factors, and particularly the interaction between them, account for virtually the entire fiscal improvement. Contrary to the Gingrich assertion, legislation passed by the Republican-led Congress of 1995 through 1997 combined to actually worsen the fiscal situation—albeit slightly.
Reading is fun!
