Back when I was a fiscal conservative, I pushed the Flat Tax. I learned fairly easily with some research that this just makes the wealth gap far worse, and does literally nothing to drive up federal tax revenue.

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

They probably would love to make the wealthy richer and the poor poorer.

The flat tax and 30% sales tax are all about a level playing field. That's all people like brett want. Make 5 million dollars a year and pay the same rate of tax as someone making 50 grand a year. Makes total sense.

Its like if the local Y offered economics classes taught by high school dropouts.

Same mindset that led brett to state that he didn't deserve to make a penny more than his pizza shop currently paid him. I mean sure, he was likely a terrible worker that was a net negative to his company but....still. Dude actively cheerleads for things that hurt both himself and those like him. He's basically the perfect fool to be taken advantage of by his chosen political party.

No it shouldn't. If you make more income you should be in a higher tax bracket. Do you know what a flat tax is?

Secondly, if you think inflation is adversely affecting people now, how do you think a 30% sales tax would affect people of middle and lower class salaries?

Because people who earn less spend far more of their income on the marginal level. It hits people who earn less and spend money on essentials while people at the high end spend less on essentials. You are pricing poor people out of the market for essential goods. If you don’t see something wrong, we’ll then there’s no hope for you…or the country.

But it won't be the same % of their income and wealth. Poor people will be taxed on almost all their income because they need it to pay for things, the rich will be taxed on almost none of theirs because they spend a fraction of their wealth buying things...

Well then the poor should work harder. Everyone knows if you have more money then someone it’s bc you worked harder then them.

Brewers in your ideal world how would this tax work?

How do we tax the ultra rich who dont have much of an income.

Do we tax their increase in value of assets? Do we force them to liquidate their assets to pay a tax? How do we get correct evaluations?

You’re assuming that they want the wealthy taxed. They don’t.

Interesting way of thinking about the failure of a parent:

Way to not answer his question. Let me take a stab for you.
Why should there be multiple tax brackets?
