I’m pretty sure it’s also not recommended to make one’s own ground beef or toilet paper. I’m just trying to figure out why those things are different than this product where there’s a shortage.
I’m just trying to determine why the party of limited government so strongly wants the federal government to get involved and presumably make baby formula. They say that it can’t even walk straight without falling over and get they trust it to do this very specific task that the largest manufacturer couldn’t do properly.
I really have to laugh here.
I'm picturing you at a CVS with bare shelves explaining to a desperate mom with twins all about the 10th Amendment and how none of this is the Administration's fault and it must be solved locally.
She doesn't care.
And making your own toilet paper………no problem.
There are a lot of things that I would make the argument that the federal government should do but are stifled by the 10th Amendment. Listen you either get to be a nation of laws or you don't. Now I don't know why I'm having to explain this to a conservative, but the federal government's job simply isn't producing baby formula. And I'm not aware of any federal law that empowers them to do so or compel anyone to do so.
The best that I see they could do is allow the plant that was producing baby formula that was killing infants to do so again. Then we need to decide whether more infants are being harmed/killed by the defective formula they were making or by not getting formula. But I am concerned...to put it mildly...that we would consider a decision to re-open the plant telling women that there is a strong non-zero chance they get more of that formula that killed infants.

The only right you mentioned that is an affirmative right to a product is health care. And I don’t know that a SCOTUS has ruled people have a right to health care. The others you mentioned are items that people have received protection from government action. Literally 100% different.
Joe Biden powerfully gets Abbott to re-open their baby formula production plan safely.
