What should we expect for Alex Rodriguez on the Hall of Fame ballot?
The former Yankee third baseman has made his entry on the ballot.

One of those topics bound for many kinds of takes surrounds former Yankees great, Alex Rodriguez. He finds himself on the ballot for the first time, five years after his retirement from the game. He is undoubtedly one of the best players of all time, and perhaps the greatest at shortstop, but his legacy is plagued by his use of performance-enhancing drugs. On one hand, you could argue that A-Rod was an all-time great before he seemed to begin taking steroids (he admitted to using steroids as a Texas Ranger from 2001 to 2003). On the other, he was the poster boy for PED suspensions, and was forced once to sit out an entire year in 2013.

Whatever it is you think about the situation is right to you, and that’s fine; there’s no obvious answer for what to do with a player like Rodriguez. It’s also not exactly clear where he will end up after the votes are tallied. One could try to link A-Rod to the likes of Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, but I’m not sure there will be a one to one relationship between Rodriguez voters and Bonds/Clemens voters. The latter two put together their incredible on-field careers almost entirely before drug tests were brought to MLB, and they are on the ballot for the final time.

I mean he’s no Carlos Correa but had Correa like potential but never put it together

He 100% deserves to be in the hall. Unlike others, he paid. I don’t think he gets in until he’s about out of chances but I think he deserves first time induction

no he used steroids for at least 7 seasons. the 3 years in texas and through the 2007 season in which he had 54 home runs and 156 rbi's..

Should he get in, absolutely but i doubt he will. If they won't vote a guy like Clemens in who never tested positive or got suspended for PED use, i don't think a guy who was suspended for a full season will have a chance.

We truly don't know what % of players used in the PED era, i think there needs to be a separate section in the HOF for players from that ERA. How can u have a HOF when guys like Bonds, Clemens and many others aren't apart of it.

You and your brother have the same problem, failure to read. I said they should have a separate wing for the PED era. No one knows exactly who was using what or when. Guys like Clemens and Arod still competed in an ERA where PED use was rampant but they still put up better stats than anyone else. They deserve to get in, just not the the regular HOF IMO

Clemens has one very overarching issue that will forever prevent his entry into the HOF

bonds was a automatic hall of famer before he even used roids not the case with clemens and arod..

bonds started taking roids in 2001 but before that he was a hall of fame player by his stats..and a 3 time mvp before 2001..

Pretty much everyone was using in the hay day. Now, many still do. My point is, it was a level playing field. They should not have a separate wing. They should let them in, but have a higher standard in terms of stats. Each era is different, and each should be judged against itself.
