Mets and Max Scherzer finalizing a three-year, $130M contract

    https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/st...61312888139778

They've apparently offered a multi-year contract at more than $40M per year.

Nothing done till it is done. Think Mets blow every team out of water but he may choose LAD/SF if close-ish because they're closer to WS

9:47PM: The Dodgers remain in the mix for Scherzer but are “not the favorites at the moment,” as per Jorge Castillo of The Los Angeles Times. Indeed, there are “growing indications” that the Mets will sign Scherzer, as per The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, with the New York Post’s Joel Sherman adding that Scherzer and the Mets have made progress towards an agreement.

8:47PM: The Mets have offered Scherzer a multi-year contract, according to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, that could be a three-year, $120MM pact.
Looks pretty close to me. 3 years at $40MM per year.

If Degrom can stay healthy that’s quite a 1-2

I see Max is throwing the remainder of his career in the trash.

If he can get 40+ million @ age 40 and up, he would be stupid not to take it. He already has a ring. Mets may not be serious contenders but nobody expected the Braves to win. Dodgers still have solid pitching prospects that can come up or used for a trade to replace him. Bauer should be back or released.

Dodgers shouldn't go for more than 3 years. 2 years @ 90 million is what I would offer to keep him.

If he gets 43 per from the Mets. He's also getting 15 per from the Nats, for the deferred.

Between both over the next 4 years, he would be making 58 million per(232 million)

    Lol.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

Not going to get played again like I did last year with Bauer. Although we dodged a bullet with that one but ****head Nightengale basically said a deal was done with Trevor and then it wasn't. I doubt the Dodgers come close to the Mets offer but stranger things have happened. I just hope Scherzer actually signs and doesn't dick us around.

Sounds like the deal is at its final stages with only minor details still needed to be negotiated. Reportedly its a 3 year/130 million dollar deal but this isn't the first time the Mets have been at the finish line with a FA for all of that **** to fall apart so I'll wait till I see someone of good intel says they agreed to a deal.
