I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

Big contract for a 33 year old. This tells me Cohen is ready to just keep spending at this point.

    He wants to win.

Similar to what Granderson got when he came here.

The age is a bit of a concern but he can move to RF in later years.

Mets needed to retool that lineup and that’s a big piece and I am ok with over paying for FA.

Perhaps but I think Canha is more of a 4th outfielder.

I think Mets need one more outfielder and Suzuki would be that piece I would look to sign.

Canha’s offensive numbers are trending backwards and is more suited now to give guys rest all over the place and or play for an injured player because as we saw odds are Mets will have plenty of guys hit the IL again.

Honestly if we get two very good years from Marte, it'll be worth it. His bat can still play well as a bottom of the order hitter in year 3 and/or 4 if needed.

This assures Conforto is gone. If we will only spend big on one more player this offseason, I hope it's Scherzer over Baez... Preferably both though

Agree on Suzuki. Between injuries and players still missing time on the covid list, he'd be a nice addition.

I think getting a left handed bat would be better tbh. Somebody like Joc in LF would be insurance

Nimmo should never play RF with his middle arm.

    How is Joc’s arm?

This is what I live this signing, Mets just added one of the faster and smartest base runners in the game.

Marte should be the right fielder, tbh. Nimmo is superior at this point in their careers. Marte should just be insurance if Nimmo gets injured.

Canha could play a decent RF in that scenario, though.
